The designs are very similar .
is this on purpose because they use swords and axes ?

If you look at the silhouettes you'll see they aren't really. They're just gundams with smaller waists. FSS are MUCH wider and have hips for days

How many threads have we had on this damn topic already? Yes, IBO designs were clearly inspired by L-Gaim and FSS.

Well , its fun to see these conversions.

No, it's the same shit regurgitated over and over again. The only reason anyone even makes these threads anymore is to instigate some non-existent fanbase war.

>>zomg totally FSS
I guess?
Gundams with FSS design is really nothing new .

Skinny waists and axes aren't even standard features of Mortar Headds, newfag.
FSS are way more fantastical, like Escaflowne. They arent even remotely close to what IBO mechs looks like. Saying that they look similar becuase of a skinny waist is fucking retarded since that applies for so many fucking machines. Like for example Escaflowne, most of Majestic Prince, RahXephon, Patlabor and so many others.

>clearly
Yeah, or you know, maybe its Fafner designs which just so happen to be from the exact some mech designer (Naohiro Washio)

Stop bumping your bait thread, faggot. There's a post counter for a reason.

Haha, no. Mortar Headds and Heavy Metals pioneered the concept of armor panels loosely fitted over a skeleton, and the ability for said armor to be swapped between skeletons. They also placed heavy emphasis on exposed power cables and pistons, as well as a T-shaped torso with extra long shoulders and relatively thinner waists. IBO carries over all of these ideas and copies them to a tee. The addition of heavy melee weaponry and high heels is the icing on the cake.
To call it merely "fantastical" is completely missing the picture. L-Gaim sure as fuck wasn't fantastical but IBO yanks ideas from it and its designs no problem.

Zeta and ZZ worked directly off the moveable frame concept introduced in L-Gaim, which is why you see so many designs with exposed frame and visible cables and pistons. That design philosophy eventually died away due to the influx of Izubuchi's designs becoming more prominent in CCA and 0080, which emphasized shape and musculature over jointwork, and later on with Katoki's refined modular aesthetic in the 90s with Victory and beyond. The UC aesthetic hasn't advanced from the Katoki look since.
Ironically very few of Nagano's own actual MS designs ever made it into Gundam shows despite his design philosophy working as the backbone of Zeta and ZZ.
