Everyone in SEED was way in over their head with the war. She handled the situation relatively better than, say, Fllay

Murrue wasn't ever really incompetent; if anything, she's one of the few captains who took the ship straight into battle head-on doing shit like barrel rolls just to get the main guns on target or breaking through blockades. On top of that, she's an engineer who has experience working on the G-Weapons and the Archangel.

If compassion can be called incompetence, then yes, Murrue has some, with the way she rarely harshly punishes anyone. However, she has more balls than some other Gundam captains.

Murrue had nothing to do with that, the pilot decided to do his shit all by himself without any input from his captain.

I dont remember Murrue ever doing much more than say advance, launch the gundam and fire! Her mechanic skills is an informed ability but she never accomplish anything with it.

Do you judge the characters based on their concept and what they were supposed to be like before "meddling" became apparently obvious, or do you just judge it based on exactly how it came out.

I mean, nearing the ending of the series, it becomes apparently obvious that the all of the new cast are just going to be fodder for the old ones. So do you just call it out for that, or call out the shit writing.

Talia dies because someone has to in this ending. But it's not going to make any sense because we don't have the time or the resolve to make it any sense at all.
