I don't see why people are disappointed with these designs after the bitching about the original designs in Try. This is basically what S1 designs were like. Remember the super creative S1 designs?

Personally what I liked about BF S1 designs is that they looked like IRL kitbashes, it was like looking at something that another person created. They looked like something you could build if you had the kits.
TRY designs often barely looked like the gunpla they were based on and lost that "homemade" gunpla feeling.

Yeah honestly I don't get the hate, Fenice is boringly similar sure, but an X made of four satellite cannons is brilliant. The kit looks way better than the lineart too.

I would kill to see the requisite Bearguy replaced by cutesy designs with other bases besides the Acguy in future Build Fighters. Acguy/Bearguy is cool, but Gundam has several other cute base suits like the Zockand the Capule/Kapool, while those customs show you can use ostensibly cool or just plain odd suits to make cute ones with a bit of imagination.

I never thought the Zock looked cute until recently. Swap out the monoeye rails for a Gaeon-like face display and remove the pointy bits/replace them with something else, and you could have yourself a really big, cute aquatic suit.

Also Capules are absolutely adorable, and well worth their Mandarake price. HG when.
