Like, Seinfeld is well known for taking place in NYC and featuring very little black people, but it's not like you never see any black people walking by in the background. Even a token black character acknowledges they are in this space.
I mean come on the closest we get to branching out is fucking shows set in the Britbong Isles.

These days, if your cast has only X demographic, it's most likely in service of the story (i.e. Luke Cage has like two non-black recurring characters because it's set in fucking Harlem)

Seriously though, Voltron vs Megazord despite being hugely one sided was argued the moment Power Rangers debuted on television since people compared it to Voltron due to that being Westerners first exposure to combining robots.
Which is interesting considering Daizyujin's design is a homage to Golion and that Zyuranger to Power Rangers weakend the Megazord (Daizyujin's literally a god) while Golion to Voltron strengthened it due to translation mishaps which gave Voltron black hole feats and made a missile fired by Zarkon be a planet buster.

There's no inherent correlation between the quality of the sentai and the PR season based on it. The only sure aspect that will be kept in both versions are the suits(On which Ninninger is already better than Toq and Zyuoh) and the fights(which are better in Zyuoh but you can always rewatch those). 20 years should be enough to know this. The only people to blame if a PR season is bad is the PR staff themselves.

Yep. It was the power-up. INTENDED for the whole team but can only be used one at a time a/la the Super Disc from Shinkenger. But in the show's terribleness, Takaharu uses it most of the time. Yakumo, Nagi, and Kinji use it only once (I think Kinji used it, I know he got a poncho that he barely used). Fuuka got it once unmorphed as a gag because the armor's spirit is a total perv, and Kasumi never used it. She got a chance as he said "You have earned the right to use me", but said "haha nope". Pretty much. Megaforce is considered to be one of the worst seasons. Even the cast were disappointed. There was an interview where Orion's actor(Silver) said that it shouldn't be on a Power Rangers boxset because it was that bad.

I feel Lost Galaxy partially broke him and completely broke Tzachor. After LG, Tzachor was a lot more focused on just "copying the Sentai" since trying to do all the original space stuff took its toll on production. Sure LG did lift a lot from Gingaman, but it still wanted to stick with the whole "Turn Forest Hippies into another Space Opera" idea.

But yeah it's possible Lynn lost his touch. Sure he worked on RPM but he mostly there to fill in the gaps, and one of them was recycling the Andros & Karone twist.

I wouldn't say Barnes and Alwyn Dale are blameless though. It's clear that their involvement signals a sharp decline in the writing. Look at the writers of Dino Charge, and then the writers of Super Charge. The majority of writers that weren't Lynn and Barnes vanished.

It's that and also the director claimed to no end that the robot theme was also COOL JAPAN whatever that means. But also Red is normally associated with Heroes. Blue is normally associated with dragons in Japan (Blue Dragon is literally the name of a video game series). Yellow is a common dump trump color. Shiro is Japanese for white and an incredibly common dog name (so much so Shin Chans dog is named it). And The Sakura is a very popular train in Japan cause Japan loves trains.

The strength of the powers was never stated, it was just inferred by people based on Tommy doing things like soloing 4 monsters. Inferring that is reasonable when comparing him to the core 5, as he was clearly stronger, but as I said we only ever got to see the fully powered Green Ranger fight when he was evil, so the best basis for comparison we have between the Green and White Rangers is when they fought each other to a standstill.

So Rita and Zedd were able to make their own Dragon Coin on a whim which granted it's user access to the Command Center and ability to summon the Dragonzord? That makes no sense for a variety of reasons.

Rita drained Tommy's Green Ranger powers with the Green Candle, and if Tommy hadn't given the Dragon Coin to Jason she would've reclaimed the powers for herself. When Tommy's temporarily infused powers finally gave out this wasn't done, so it would stand to reason that Rita reclaimed the powers at that point, though she was locked away at the time.

Once she escapes the space dumpster and puts herself back in a position of power as Zedd's wife, the first thing she does is make a new evil Green Ranger. It makes far more sense that she does this with the recently reclaimed original Green Ranger powers than making duplicate powers on a whim.

It's kind of weird knowing that some of the most solid feats of non upgraded rangers are in the comics and not from the actual show.

I believe an earlier draft of the script also stated that their Zeo powers wouldn't work once through the portal, which makes sense seeing as the Zeo Crystal was kept in the Power Chamber and the Zeonizers tapped into it remotely. Remember in "King for a Day" when the Rangers demorphed, and then they couldn't remorph because of the forcefield was blocking their powers from getting through?

Also keep in mind that Divatox was not a threat anywhere near the level of the Machine Empire, and that their mission was to stop her before she unleashed Maligore, so speed based powers better served them for that mission.

Why didn't they go back to using Zeo afterwards? Maybe Zordon thought it was overkill versus Divatox. Maybe the Zeo Crystal needed to be in an inactive state to grow in power, and he felt it better to let it's power increase for a bigger threat. Maybe he knew with the Rangers graduating there was gonna be the need for a new team, and wanted the vets to thoroughly test the new powers/zords for them before they took over.

It's also why Goseiger is designed the way it is. It has three separate villain factions that collectively cover all of the major kinds of Sentai villains (space invaders, ancient monsters, killer robots), and its robots work their way backwards from modern to classic structure: Hyper Gosei Great is designed to look like a 2000s robo where all the parts combine into a clusterfuck like EngineOh G12 or SamuraiHaoh, Ground Gosei Great is designed to look like a 90s robo where the sixth ranger's robot forms armor for the main robot, and GoseiUltimate is designed to look like an 80s robo where it's just a big blocky thing with no individual parts. The latter point loses a bit of clarity in Megaforce because they stopped doing the 80s-type robos before Zyuranger, so Power Rangers has never really had them outside the Astro Megazord.
