Cyber newtypes are normally just called "strengthened humans" (I think it's kyokai ningen) or something similar in the Japanese, where newtypes are called "newtypes" in both Japanese and English. The wording may not be exactly the same across both languages, but the differentiation is, and Gyunei talks about being enhanced in a lab while Nanai refers to Quess as "newtype" in Japanese as well as English. Char also notes earlier in the film that "she's the real thing" after she picks up funnel controls almost immediately.
