I remember hating Sleggar when he first joined the crew, I thought he was going to be the cliche joke who is secretly a coward, I'm glad I was wrong, now he's one of my favourite Gundam characters

Even in the Original series, Bright felt overpowered by the pure masculinity and confidence that Slegger possessed. Had Slegger returned to the White Base after Solomon and returned Mirais advances, I'd imagine Bright would idly sit by and allow it to happen.

Kind of reminds of me a piece of dialouge the two of them have in Gihrens Greed if Sleggar managed to survive into the formation of AEUG.

Slegger: "Hey, Captain Bright! I had a feeling i'd be serving with you again someday!"
Bright: G-good to have you back with us Lieutenant..."
Slegger: "You been treating Mirai well I hope?"
Bright: "Y-yes Sir, of course!"
Slegger: *Chuckle* You are the captain here Captain Bright, its my job to call you sir."

Even 7-8 years following the One Year War, he still viewed Slegger as a dominating figure [Bright was still just a teenager when he was the White Bases Captain, while Slegger was well into adulthood, which might explain the strong respect despite the rank differences by that point]

I like how a random dude like Cameron showed up in the movie ten years later.
