Super robot real robots is how I would describe them.

It's nice how they went for a smaller size, but the backpack cockpits are off-putting.

I like a lot of the small things about them like the backpack cockpits that worked as escape pods and the landspinners but as overall designs the only ones I really like are the Sutherland and the Gurren MKII. The designs went to complete shit in R2.

They're great, IMO
Huge power source in a small compact package with good sensory equipment, made for high speeds and interceptions
S1 introduced techs at a good pace and even Siegfried was introduced well
S2 went overboard with the float system's rapid adaptation and the goddamn Damocles

Also Gawain was the tightest shit mecha in the series and I dare you to prove me wrong

DESU i don't really like them
the lancelot and the shinkiro are cool tho
but the rest of them strike me as odd looking and quiet ugly actually
