At least coming up with heroes having adventures with cool designs to sell toys for kids to play with is something remotely positive. bayformers aren't for kids, aren't appealing designs, don't even make good toys, and it exists purely to make a quick buck off of the fact that it's a brand name people recognize.

I genuinely have not been able to tell what's been happening anytime I've tried to watch any of these movies.

It may as well have been metal tumbleweeds rolling across the screen, sometimes bashing into other metal tumbleweeds with explosions going off in the background.

I don't know how Bay keeps getting jobs directing action movies when he has no fucking idea how to direct action. His idea of 'action' is a lot of shaky close ups of things moving really fast, with no wides and cuts no more than 1.5 seconds apart, resulting in what can only be described as an unfathomable clusterfuck. Add on the fact that the bayformers are so busy with so many moving parts and no flow or humanizing features, just all sorts of weird angles everywhere that act like dazzle camouflage, to the point that in most shots you can't even tell what the fuck it is you're seeing let alone which robot is which, and these movies end up being absolutely miserable as a fan of action and robots.
At least there's Pacific Rim.

Probably the last solid western movie, helped by being really cool and not being a remake/reboot/soft reboot/sequel nobody asked for.

Even the promotional material it had in Japan was cool.
