Maybe I need to give the movie another go. I watched it back when it was released and just felt hugely disappointed by it. It just seemed like it had nothing to do with the plot of the series. You could insert the cast of any Gundam franchise into the story and it wouldn't really make a difference. Kira, Judau, Hiro, or Usso could have met the aliums and it would have played out the same. It just felt tacked on to me and unnecessary. I might give it another chance after rewatching 00.
