I just finished a resin model kit .
does anybody here tried to build one ?

Very nice anonymous!
>>15749616
>>15749615
Looks good. Did you pin all the parts connections? O r just use superglue to assemble parts?
>>15749615
>>15749635
All pined , with still pins and needles .
Them I superglued most of it
some of the parts just fit so well that I didnt used any glue .
Its a big resin kit
even if that is a very small gundam kit
but both are at 1/100 scale .
>>15749615
I have the plastic version of it. Terrible compared to Bandai kits, but fuck me if it doesn't look great and massive on the shelf.
>>15749706
One day I'll paint up its swords.
>>15749706
I am sure that even ifs its not bandai engineering , its way more easier to build compared to the old resin versions .
As if these resin kits arent already very hard to build in a static pose , then some people go and make an epic battle diorama .
Here a bang doll versus an Ashura temple .
>>15749838
here are some images I found on the net ,..

You're probably right, but building this kit just made me appreciate Bandai kits that much more. Fuck all the people who whine about some joint not bending 360, at least it goes together without a headache.
If they ever do make a plastic Ashura Temple, I will still buy it no matter how shit it is.
>>15749615
What is its name?
Also, do you have any from the 90s? I have a LED made in 95. Hate the joints.
>>15749615
ain't you the guy from GBB?
congrats on the model, looks amazing
>>15749985
>Ashura Temple
Patrician taste. Too bad it's one of the least popular Mortar Headds. Everyone prefers the lankier ones like the Phantoms for some reason.
>>15749985
>plastic Ashura
Yeah, I'd buy that for many dollarinos. I still got a half-built 1980s LED lying around though and loads of other kits.
I'd really like to get into their new line soon though. The Terror Mirage looks great.
>>15749985
well , I will not wait for a plastic version .
I just started on the primer on my WSC version .
>>15751212
That is Vatshu , The black Knight .
I have the Led Mirage with boomerang unit , but I need to fix some broken parts and take new picts
Here is another of my old ones .
I did this V-Siren about 20 years ago .

Crazy how Nagano made all these great designs only to go and retcon tham out of his own comic.
>>15751604
The thing is that Nagano has been retconning and updating old designs even before GTM.
Does anyone here remember the time when we could even have a Hobby Japan mag with FSS in the cover ?
something tells me that in 1992 90% of users here were not even born .
>>15751630
Resin kits are by and large dead, and whatever is left of the FSS modelling scene has shifted toward the one or two Volks kits that gets released every other year.
Things have changed a lot since the 90s.
>>15751634
Well , I will keep building my old collection .
but about of dead , not entirely .
I just bought a 4 arms mechanichal warrior named WASP .
it was a CG model that was 3d printed in the form of a model kit .
>>15751634
What are the chances of ever getting official GTM kits/figures?
My wip. Waiting for a resin lakky.
>>15752116
The resin Fatimas are gorgeous. Wish they turned them into PVC figures.
>>15752121
God why are Fatima so beautiful.
>>15752121
there are pvc figures
and they are very pricey.,
like $175 usd on ebay,.
>>15752313
They're also complete garbage.
>>15752313
>>15752385
Just like those Kaiyodo MH "toys". No idea why it took so long for Nagano to yank the license from them if this was the crap they would keep on making.
this is amazing ...
>>15752869
I actually know the guy who took that pic and was building that model, his asshole roommate stole it and dozens of his other resin kits one day and ran off. Poor guy.
>>15752869
Is that a fucking inner frame in the background?
>>15749615
I've been thinking of getting a Yen Xing for years now, but I know I cant be bothered actually doing it.
I'll get on eventually and probably leave it in the box, never to be built.
>>15753141
Yep, SAV LED Mirage. The plastic version has it too.
>>15753156
If you can fully build a Yen Xing, there is probably not a single other kit out there that can challenge you.
Anyone know what drawing this design came from?
That moment when you do realize on the top of the Knight of Gold head , a penis , a vagina and the spermatozoids .
>>15756217
Well I'll be... There's even a clitoris.
>>15756217
>Marriage mecha is full of symbols of heterosexual intercourse
As much as I love Nagano's art oftentimes the kits actually make the designs look even better in 3D form.
>>15751604
>Crazy how Nagano made all these great designs only to go and retcon tham out of his own comic.
When you draw one thing your entire life you probably want to mess around with something else at some point I guess.

Can someone translate this into English before thread of the actual scans will be released soon?
>>15756954
I absolutely hated the KAN until I saw it in kit form. That shot it up to my top 3 Nagano designs.
>>15757038
That's great and all, but when the hell are we gonna get that Gothicmade BD announced?
>>15760253
Yeah I think the sculptors/designers deserve credit for filling out the designs and making them look great in 3D. Does anyone know if Nagano works with Volks at all or provides extra turnarounds or anything of the more obscure MHs?
>>15761872
Wasn't the KAN not made by Volks?
>>15761872
>Does anyone know if Nagano works with Volks at all or provides extra turnarounds or anything of the more obscure MHs?
Nope, he doesn't help them at all. He considers them to be like extra hardcore fans, but nothing more than fans, which is why he's able to retcon all his designs without any worry. They only have access to artbooks and the manga released at the time like everyone else. Often times he messes with them by releasing new lineart or up-close shots that are completely different than the original lineart. That's why you get so many different interpretations of certain MH. In the late 80s/early 90s there were like 10 completely different KOG sculpts by various competing Garage Kit companies.
I've heard recently he laid out some guidelines for the IMS kits, like making LED Mirage translucent instead of white, but as a whole he's pretty hands-off.
>>15762033
KAN was made by Work Shop Cast, by the same guy who sculpted the old school Junchoon and Ashura Temple. WSC has a tendency to focus on slightly more obscure designs. Unfortunately they dropped the FSS license ever since that sculptor retired from the company 2 years ago.
I don't think the KAN itself was that popular of a design until the kit of it was made. Same with the A-Toll Scritti. Makes me wonder if people would appreciate the GTMs a bit more if good kits of them were made.

>They only have access to artbooks and the manga released at the time like everyone else. Often times he messes with them by releasing new lineart or up-close shots that are completely different than the original lineart.
Case in point, this old Schpeltor was made based on a one panel from the manga and one cover art from a design book. The sculptor had to come up with the legs and various other details from scratch.
Looks like the plastic version of the knight of gold is a good base for gundam versions .

Those parts are from the Volks Vatshu. Every plastic KOG out there right now is a POS.
