It was...different. I can certainly appreciate trying to do something different but I can't say it did it especially all that well and It was too bloody serious.

Ironically It's greatest strengths and weakness where both it's brevity. It's short length made it hard to care about the drama and develop it's characters all the way but at the same time it also made it functional as a simpler action series where it was over before it really got on your tits

It was released a full 2 years after the anime had ended too, so I doubt they where trying to ride any series success so it's a very puzzling vexing thing.
