Is Majingaa just a pun based on majin and mashin sounding similar?

Yes, also with ma meaning devil and jin being god
>>15745074
I got that except jin can mean person too.
>>15745101
Jin can mean several things, Kanji/Japanese is silly like that
Its written in katakana but in kanji it would be 神 rather than 人
>>15745108
But does majin in majingaa mean demon god or demon person?
>>15745115
Majin means devil god, and it runs with the theme that Mazinger can be a devil or a god.
The Ga I'm pretty sure just comes from giving it a robotic sounding, cool name and has no significance similar to the Z.

Majin-ga-a-a zetto!

Interestingly, for Dai Mazinger the Gaa part was written as 我 (me). That's probably just the result of someone looking for a kanji that fits rather than the original intent, but it does fit thematically.
