I'd guess they disappeared for the same reason the vehicles (mostly) did. Super Sentai's action figures becoming more and more irrelevant. They aren't going to sell roleplay items that big, so the only point of the big size was for the action figure. So, without actual articulate action figures that can wield weapons and pose, there's no reason to push big weapons like that.

It stays relatively the same. It's standard, but a good standard. No big surprises, but no flaws either.

It's worst flaw is that it really does NOTHING with the Zyuman side of stuff for a lot of it, where it had so much potential. The original trailers made it seem more comedic, but they never went with it for the run.

Well, Super Ninja Steel (Ninja Super Steel? Whatever) is already confirmed so the actual next season for PR will be 2019.
So they'll have Zyuohger, Kyuranger and the next year's sentai available.
I don't see they going for the 2018 sentai because that would mean they have less time to work on adapting.
And there's the whole Bandai America thing with Kyuranger, so I honestly do not have any hope of seeing Zyuohger adapted, sadly.

I've talked about ideas in the PR general, but my ideal candidates to make female (cos let's face it, they won't have only two girls on a 12 Ranger team) are Gold and SkyBlue, the former because of how flamboyantly Balance tends to be in suit footage, and a kickass reference to pic related could be made from it. The chunkiness can be attributed to the fact that they're a robot.
I've kind of hoped blue would be somewhat related to Kruger, but Saban don't care about Disney seasons, so it's very wishful thinking. Pink doesn't have to be a robot, considering how you'd never be able to tell by the costume (unlike Black and Gold), and I think it would be cool if she were a kind of fairy alien, to explain the wings.

I had a whole bunch of ideas for other shit, but not on me now. Maybe some other time.
