The MK-IV generation of Overwatch, the donut steel mashup I've made in each Breaker game I've played. It's a combination of the G3 body, GM Custom head and Jegan limbs, armed with a humongous Heavyarms-FAG combo of artillery guns, missile pods, railguns and miniguns, along with a beam sniper. It would focus on long-range engagements using its copious thruster attachments to keep a distance from enemy suits while drowning them in overwhelming firepower.

If it exhausts its ammunition entirely it can detach its weapon attachments and backpack to reveal a GN drive and enter TRANS-AM, shifting styles from a long-range artillery unit to a blindingly fast melee unit that fights with a beam rifle and steel dagger ejected from the detached backpack.

I'd build a psychoframe equipped Neue Ziel. Replace the manipulator arms under the shoulder binders with funnels, remove the wire guides from the main hands and make them usable as fully independent large funnels. Equip it with a 360° panoramic cockpit as well.

Lupus + God Gundam gimmick, a better protected dock and a GN drives for power and fly. No Trans-arm, but more like an Hyper Mode similar to the Phantom gundam flames for an even more demonic look. And a fucking face open.

Getting into customization, I'd what to pump up the mobility, maybe take influence from the SD Gundam G Generation Gather Beat designs (in pic)

Just have one team member be a tank and do close to mid range attacks. Then have the other one be either long range or a transformable suit like the Messala or Delta Plus. That should let you go in and be an assassin. Of course this would work better in more cramped environments, like a city.

Unless you meant 3 seconds in instead of 3 on 3, in which case, you're on your own.

REBEL Flag, basically a heavily modified version of this optimized for speed and precision strikes. Flags have always been one of my favorite Gundam-related machines.

Gold Frame Amatsu Mina head and legs, death scythe... scythe, Vidar skirts and burst sabre and kitbashing the beam mantles from Fenice on there.

Or a Burning. It was the thing that got me into Gundam so I still have a soft spot for it.

I'm still deciding a torso and arms to suit something so clearly Bloodborne inspired for the actual build of my little custom.

My custom idea I've had floating around is the Nu Gundam Hyperion Razgriz. Nu gundam Body, Head, Beam Rifle, and Shield, Alex Arms, Zabanya legs, The Missile racks from the Jesta on the legs and hips, Gouf custom sword for Melee. I'd want to give it a black and red color scheme like the Razgriz aircraft from Ace combat 5. the real issue lies in the fact that the Nu is absolutely massive compared to other suits so making the parts work would be hell.

A Jesta Cannon where the backpack holds a rack of three Space-type Lotos that detach like funnels during battle. They've each had their shoulder weapons replaced with a single railgun. They can combine into one really big railgun for a finishing move.
The jesta itself has had the cannon replaced with another beam gatling gun (for more beam spam) and they've both been placed on subarms so that they can move independently. The gatling guns aren't supposed to do much other than keep you preoccupied with dodging so the Lotos can flank and set up a shot.

Okay, so take a Harute. Instead of having the Boosters be separate, have them always be on. When it needs to walk on the ground, the casing around the GN Booster simply slides downward and conceals it. Think of a rectangluar version of Turn A's bell bottom legs, but with no feet at the end. The arms would have the GN sword rifles built in. Think Jehuty, but with bigger, longer arm blades. The waist skirt would be longer in the back & be used as binders for the sword bits. The head would have only one pair of V-fins and a face mask on (think MGR Raiden) with a galaxy pattern on it. When the MS goes Marute, I want it to split open to reveal a visor and a second pair of V-fins. When it transforms, the head pops into the torso and the back skirts flip up sideways like rudders. Other than that, nothing changes. Change all the black to a dark mica blue & the orange to a pantone blue. The words "FAR OUT" are painted on the top of the right wing.

Call it Deep Space Harute.

An amalgam of the Gold/Red/Blue Frame Astrays, due to how customizable they are. Combo the Mirage Colloid(Stealth Mechanism/Targeting Computer scrambling virus) with something like a extended battery from Blue Frame mission pack for more plavsky particle storage and you essentially have a true assassin MS without the need for underhanded crap like the renato brothers using non-gunpla, but still gundam-related, stuff.

Not to the mention the number of blades one can bring if you kitbash all of the astray melee weapons into a single platform.

It's possible for the mechanics to exist, but those mechanics have to be applied to the machine. Apsalus never had an I-field, the Dozle-gangster-expy applied it to his model. Remember Wing Gundam and how easily it was taken apart by Sazaki's Gyan? It most certainly did not have the toughness of gundanium alloy armor, so I don't see why an IBO unit would have nano-laminate armor that is nearly impervious from beams... -by default-. Same way that the Build Strike never had PS armor by default.

I'd been working on something a long time ago and never got around to finishing it. But I called it the Sweet Hazel II mostly a modified Gundam Hazel II with a modified Build Booster MK II with a pair of booster shields modeled similiar to the ones used by the Vrabe. The shields were attached to a set of arms using parts from the Bolden Arm Arms set to allow the Sweet Hazel II to have a shield in any direction. The shield boosters also made the Sweet Hazel go really damned fast too.

Also the booster shields had two modes they could take B-Crush and B-Blaster. The shields could come together and fire a charged blast similar to how the Mega Cannon works on the Tallgeese III and its B-Crush mode makes the shields act like a set of beetle pincers and can crush mobile suits.

Depends on the series. A lot of instances they bank on newtype magic or whatever. As far I know from my reading there is a lot of instances of manual control via newtype brainwave control or emulation there of. Basically you don't see them controlling them but they are. I.e. NITRO system for emulation of newtype ability.

As for automated ones I'm sure they exist and you can totally say that the systems would apply in gunpla battle but there's the cost/effectiveness ratio. I don't imagine funnels being up there in terms of amazing gimmicks in terms of efficiency. You'll close off a few vectors for your opponent but considering they are draining particles, need replenished and in this case primarily automated which means likely lessened performance and they could add to a complex build in terms of reparis, I think it's really a case of them not being a flat upgrade but I can see some cool uses for them.
