Try asking the gunpla general next time. They're very helpful and you won't need to create a whole new thread.

You can't go wrong starting with a High Grade kit. They look fairly decent and are ezpz to build. Just pick any HG with a cool design and you should be good to go.
Buy some nippers to take parts out from the runner, and some fine sandpaper to file down nubs.
