S2, both the mechs and the story, are severely underrated. 00Raiser, Arios, Seravee, and Cherudim all grew on me a lot.

If you had actually watched the show you'd know that it wasn't the back of Seravee, but actually the front of Seraphim. The face covers the GN Drive and when it opens it shits out a ton of GN particles meaning it's needed for hyper burst mode, trans-am, and trial system.

I think a big part of it is people don't want to see Gundam as a sci-fi series, they want it to be this gritty war drama. The ELS push Trailblazer more into the sci-fi section even though it's the climax of the series and it's main messages.

Again, how so? Personal taste for 'aliums in muh Gendum' aside, there's objectively nothing wrong with the story: Aeolia's plan comes pass, humankind moving into space, Setsuna becoming the bridge between two races etc.

It's pretty similar to the ideas tossed around in UC with Zeon Deikun and newtypes when you think about it, except 00 actually succeeded.

Some of us were pretty sure during 00 S2.

Liked the mech designs didn't care for the show. Way too many character subplots for characters I really couldn't care about. Mr. Bushido was just stupid, he served no purpose to the main story whatsoever.

He basically was a character to rival Setsuna, and in s2 he showed some of that obsession of fighting and worship of gundam that Setsuna had in s1. It gave depth to his character, and he had one of the best scenes in the movie that helped Setsuna forward into ELS both physically and mentally because of their dynamic.

Graham is amazing, and every fight he had with Setsuna made me wish he was the main character instead. Angry weeaboo Graham was just sort of in the way of the plot, however. I'd say they should have just had him die when he beat Setsuna, but then he was amazing again when he stopped being an angry weeaboo.

He wasn't really the rival. He saw himself as one, but CB never really noticed him until he charged at Setsuna after taking down Corner. Nobody knew it was Graham who challenged Setsuna way back in episode 3, they probably forgot about it by the end of the day, or that it was Graham who actually managed to hit Eins.

The more true rivals were Team Trinity and Ali Al-Saachez.

Fine to me, but frankly the design is so good in general. Even if the Exia is superior, i still love the 00, same for Arios or Raphael, pretty cool in armor mode. For me their design is a pinnacle that frankly no one has really surpassed.
They are all beautiful.

GN-X and Flags Are two others masterpieces.
