Is Earth Defense Force /m/?

They have giant robots and less giant robots.
TO SAVE OUR MOTHER EARTH FROM ANY ALIEN ATTACK
FROM VICIOUS GIANT INSECTS WHO HAVE ONCE AGAIN COME BACK
WE'LL UNLEASH ALL OUR FORCES
WE WON'T CUT THEM ANY SLACK
EDF !!! EDF!!! EDF!!!
I just want a goddamn release date for 5 already. The sooner it releases, the sooner the PC version will come out.

I just want a fully functional Balam Mobile Fortress that can be dropped in and deal with air units and smaller massed forces while punching the ever loving shit out of the bigger units.
Much like the Trails Of series, it didn't start /m/ but it's certainly /m/ now.

This may seem crazy, but I feel like EDF at high framerate is missing the point. That's valuable processing power that you could be using to put even MORE bugs on screen!
>>15725137
I wouldn't know, since I only played it on PC. I don't usually like low framerates thou, so I dunno.
I'd really rather get it on PC than PS4 due to the lower price and the fact that I actually have people to play with on PC.

No I'm saying that if EDF on PC has the potential to create a true swarm of bugs, so many enemies on screen that a nasa supercomputer will chug trying to maintain 17fps.
For a while it had giant robot enemies, making it debateably /m/. Then we got the Vegalta Mecha series in game, which were cool but still kind of sucked in 2017. Then we received EDF 2025 with leveling vehicles with an assigned class, more enemies (a giant robot that transforms into a moving battleship, for instance), and a power armored playable class. At that moment EDF became unquestionably /m/.

Then Balam happened.

i'll never forget when it came out and i wanted to see them bring back RAD
>>15726369
I'm still dreaming of a new completely mecha game form Sandlot but they seem to be all-in with EDF these days.

It's funny, because the original SIMPLE 2000: THE CHIKYUBOUEIGUN was built on R.A.D.'s engine.
WE ARE PREPARED FOR ANY ALIEN THREATS
THE NAVY LAUNCHES SHIPS
THE AIR FORCE SENDS THEIR JETS
AND NOTHING CAN WITHSTAND OUR FIXED BAYONETS
THE EDF DEPLOYS
Deculture!
