why does a rifle with no recoil need a stock?
>>15720242
Most likely better aiming and control of the rifle but that's my guess

Beams have recoil you clown.
The GM Sniper is the worst of the GM sniper types.
>>15720242
beam weapons do have recoil.
>>15720248
Its a machine, you don't need to bring it up to your head and rest it against your shoulder to be accurate like humans do.
>>15720242
How do you know it has no recoil?
>>15720242
Because stockless long guns look stupid.

It's still more stable and produces less wear and tear to buttress a rifle to the shoulder joint than let the elbow and wrist counteract recoil.
Tanks with proper modern fire control systems don't need to stop before firing as they can do it on the go, but they'll still stop and then fire when possible.

Particle beams have recoil, anon. They have mass, and therefore momentum transfer. They're also effected by gravity, though they usually have such high velocity you can't see it except over long range.

For support, nogunz.
There are four points of contact when holding a rifle:
>firing hand
>support hand
>shoulder
>cheek weld
They help stabilize the rifle for steadier aim which even "recoil-less" rifles can benefit from.
