Not 20 years but that's what happened to me. I'd still like to recall it as good, but I doubt I can rewatch it fully.

Tried watching the Rebuilds with friends a few months ago (two of us had seen all of Eva, one hadn't seen the Rebuilds and two rarely watch anime). Didn't even finish the first one. It's extremely jarring pacing made me realize it wasn't a way to find new Eva fans; but a scam to get older fans to buy in again.

I find that it becomes harder to be patient with Shinji upon multiple views. It doesn't necessarily have to do with your current age when watching. He just becomes more frustrating once you are aware of all the emotional banana peels he inevitably slips on and exactly when they will happen.

I think the way characters casually muse about Shinji's inability to connect with them despite their own advances and invitations is done to reinforce the whole "it's all in your head you autist" theme the series builds on.

Not that guy since I've never asked for flags for /m/ since they are unnecessary. Id's are not forced tripfags. They aren't forced names. You are still anonymous. They don't follow you from thread to thread. Most people are too lazy to even look at the ids, so their impact is minimal.

I only ask for ids temporally, to clean up the samefagging and shitposting. And I only ask for them since in lieu of better moderation. I'd much rather have the users have another option to self moderate, than mods deleting everything everywhere. I'd argue that ids preserve anonymous message board spirit better than heavy handed moderation.

It's also ironic that many of the people who oppose IDs are from forums and IRCs that have usernames, and co-ordinate trolling on /m/ on those forums.

/m/ needs to fix it's shitposting problems, and I see ids as a less intrusive why of doing that.
