Is Lecoque evil?
Not really. He just wanted to be rich and powerful in whatever way was easiest. While that did make him an amoral asshole, he was also the type that was smart enough to realize that you have to get along with some people and that you can't be needlessly cruel if you want a high standing in life. The vast majority of instances of him being a jackass were directed against the coup forces and not against the Deloyerans in general
wow you could land a plane on his forehead
>>15694673
I wouldn't say he's evil as much as just ambitious and unscrupulous. He's not quite as concerned about ethics and is more personally motivated than other characters, but he never struck me as an outright villain- just a guy trying to do things his way, for himself, consequences be damned.
Kind of. I mean, he was way over his head and he did totally get a lot of people killed. And ultimately, he got one of Earth's most powerful and influential political dynasties to relocate to Deloyer, which is going to dramatically speed up Earth's decline.
>>15694673
He's scummy but I can't think of anything he did that was overly cruel or villainous. He was an unethical jackass sure but he didn't go around kicking puppies or killing babies as a hobby.
>>15694673
He is moai.
he's a jew.
so yes.
Favorite combat armors?
I'm up for Blockheads, myself.
>>15694673
I mean technically his plan worked.
Deloyer would have been at peace if Lecoque didn't get shot by his own personal rat.
Lecoque just wanted to sit in the big boys chair

The Soltic
>>15695341
I fancy the Ironfoot. It has a badass name, a really neat looking non-humanoid asymmetrical head design and appears to have been created with the thought process of "put as many guns on it as possible".
It's the only one of the humanoid combat armors that doesn't bore me. The others are just too plain for my taste.
>>15695341
I'd love them except for the ball turret for a mouth.
>>15695447
I LOVE YOU CASSHIM
>>15695804
>Helmut J. Lecoque
What did he mean by this?
>>15694673
Winn-tier heel.
>>15695341
Soltics are the cutest
>>15694673
No one's good or evil, that's what the show teaches children
>>15695493
The Ironfoot is real fucking nice as a design.
What upset me about the Ironfoot, though, was its subsequent appearances. The first time it appeared, both Ironfoots simply refused to stay rekt. I was thinking that Dougram may have finally met its equal on the battlefield.
Then in later episodes, other CAs are able to destroy it with ease. Crinn could not even last as long as he normally does with Dougram in one of the damn things.

>No one's good or evil, that's what the show teaches children
did you not watch any scene with lecoque though
>>15697890
He may have been selfish and manipulative, but not sadistic, only evil character i can think of would be that garcia platoon boss
No, he's just a dick.
>>15699279
Don't you mean a coque?
>>15697890
It's not a Lecqoue thread until PHG posts in it. Thanks man!
>>15694805
Well, he does have an elongated head.
>>15695341
>>15695493
These guy are the best CAs, IMO.
I think Dougram rather than Gundam is the first true 'Real Robot' show. the mechanical design is that bit grittier and more like military machinery.
>>15704247
Well it's not like there are many Combat Armors to choose from. Apart from those two, there are the Soltics, Dougram, and all the quadruped gunners and that's it
I honestly remember being disappointed by that given how long Dougram was

>I honestly remember being disappointed by that given how long Dougram was
People at Sunrise back then weren't idiots. Less is more with good and memorable designs.
Look at VOTOMs, it also has but a few designs (no more than six?).
Or Bones (a Sunrise studio) and their Eureka 7 (military gets 1 mech in 2 variations, freedom fighters get like 3, there's one for the merc pair, one strato prototype plus Nirvash and Type the End) which is also 50 episodes.
If you throw in too many designs into the pot you can't make good toys out of them, your designers can't spend as much time on them, the animators can't put as much detail on them cause they have to learn to draw a few more...
Look at TTGL and how many of its innumerable designs actually get any attention.
Or Diebuster with its numerous great designs almost no one gives a shit about because there's Dix Neuf and maybe one or two more (and Gainax made and animated a metric ton of these).
Of course, something changed along the way given how CG, G Reco, or IBO introduce a new design or two every other episode but CG is all about the Lancelot and Gurren, G Reco doesn't get any fan favorites at all and IBO people still cherry pick only a few designs and discard the rest.
>>15704335
VOTOMS has a metric shitload of designs, much like most other Takara shows. Just the Scope dog variants alone can make up six
Scope dog
Scope dog RSC
Marshy Dog
Strike dog
Rabidly dog
Burglary Dog
And of course, your line of logic doesn't make sense as applies to shows that Sunrise did with only two mecha designs that still look terrible (Zambot 3)
>>15704385
I was talking about designs and that is consistent across all of these bar the Strike Dog which actually changes the claw and the cockpit visor.
Dougram also has numerous changes to the mechs with camouflage, different guns and such but those are still one design.
150 years in ms paint
>>15704047RIP Shioyama ;_;
>>15704423
All of these have some sort of change in design except RSC, which is just the Scope Dog with a bunch of weaponry attached to hard points.
Marshy Dog has some underwater traction leg gear
Rabidly Dog is like the Strike Dog, but with a bazooka instead of a machine gun, and again with different optics
Burglary Dog has some skis on its feet, and of course the built in cannon armature
And I also forgot the Battling variants like the Strong Bacchus and Brutish Dog, which again feature slight modifications to the design
If you mean to say that they're all consistent in design because they all share the same basic kind of body, then basically every fucking mecha in VOTOMS is the same, as is everything in Dougram except for I guess the Ironfoots and the crab gunners. They all have the same basic body otherwise, only differing in head shape and standard weaponry attached to hard points

>>15704480
It's actually kind of interesting; all but one Combat Armor in this image now has or will have a plastic Max Factory kit.
Not even justice?
>>15704385
>a slightly different weapon loadout and amor placement makes it a whole new design
Stop.

Instead he cuddled a baby. (at least he was going to)

Naisu.
Isn't the upcoming hi-metal Soltic an exclusive?

Why he looks like a potato?
Never trust a potato man.
