You seem to watch only Heisei shows, so I don't know how you would feel about something older. Regardless I recommend the bastard child of Toei that is Metal Heroes, such as Winspector or Juspion.

Only heisei shows... Time to evolve, anon.

I'll gladly watch any showa era stuff if you can give suggestions. I'm thinking of getting into Black, or watching Ichigo. I don't discriminate.
>>15692435
they're both pretty cool in their own ways

Black is completely different than post-2000 riders and 70's showa riders. It's almost an isolated rider: heavy drama, grimdark, almost no jokes and two riders (a hero and a villain). I really like it.
However, I think you should give a try to other franchises... There are some nice metal heroes available now and the 80's vibe is pretty different than heisei stuff: more violent and with many references, even nazi shit and drugs. Things you don't see nowadays.
If you want 80's shows, like 50 tv episodes, try Juspion (space) or Winspector (cops). If you want 2012's shows, like shorter movies, try the next generation Space Sherriffs trilogy: Gavan Next -> Sharivan Next -> Shaider Next.

You do know that grimdark isn't a compliment right?
>>15692536
Of course. In the case of Black and Metal Hero, personally I think it's great the way it is. In the end, among these many "friendly toku" entries nowadays, showa 80's offers good alternatives for different shows.

Black is dark for like three episodes before all of the plots become typical Showa silliness other than maybe the Shadow Moon episodes.
You go from cultists to an episode about Golgom trying to steal all of the fish from a fish market or making a haunted house to attack Kotaro in.
>>15692284
Go watch some fuckin' Ultraman.
If like Heisei-era stuff (as it seems from what you've watched already), I'd recommend Mebius, Nexus or Tiga. Mebius and Nexus are both on Crunchyroll too, so they're easy enough to get into.
Geed just started airing, but there's a bit of lore to get into before jumping straight into it, namely Ultraman Zero's history.

Don't take haunted houses lightly.
I wanted to ask are there any old toku series on blu-ray I know that Gavan and a few kamen rider series are out
>>15692602
For metal heroes, only gavan and the movies (gavan x gokaiger, gavan next...). About showa riders, I only remember Black.
>>15692590
>Golgom trying to steal all of the fish from a fish market or making a haunted house to attack Kotaro in.
I swear, both these exact same plans also happened in Battle Fever J. Probably elsewhere too.
>>15692602
Android Kikaider and Goranger both have blu-ray releases.
>>15692818
The original Kamen Rider got a BD release last year. No ones retimed XIG subs to them though and who knows if KIT plan on doing it after they finish

>No ones retimed XIG subs to them though and who knows if KIT plan on doing it after they finish
If someone was using XIG's subs as a basis, wouldn't they have to retype the whole thing themselves?
>>15692284
You should try Garo, the first season is GOAT.
>>15692284
Maybe it's due to my bias from growing up on Hawaii, but I'd recommend Kikaider. Any version would work as a good entry to the series depending on what you like, but if you plan on watching Kamen Rider Gaim next I HIGHLY recommend the Kikaider REBOOT movie. There's a prelude in episode 30 of Gaim, so I'd recommend watching that and then the movie, but you don't really need to.It's a shame it's probably not getting a sequel because I really like that movie

>Probably elsewhere too.
Kamen Rider X had the haunted house plot for an episode
>>15693331
No, he posted the sub files for both the original series and Super-1

>Kikaider
Kikaider's good, but I prefer Metalder a bit more. Even being a homage/copy/whatever from Kikaider, I think the 80's designs & fights are superior - and the Hakaider 95 movie for extra points. >_<
>>15692590
Yes, because toku is toku: even the darkest ones have these silly episodes. You can't be dark all the time. But in case of 80's shows (especially Black, Jiban and Juspion), the style is different. You still have annoying kids and dumb plots/plans, but the overall monster designs, violence and death scenes are more dramatic.
>>15693414
Garo's good. At least season 1 is obligatory. If you like, watch the rest.
>>15692593
>Go watch some fuckin' Ultraman.
I'm not a big fan of Ultras, but is this guide accurate/updated?
>>15694030
That guide only covers up to the stuff with Ultraman X, but it's good otherwise.
>>15692590
I'm six episodes in and it's still pretty fucking dark, even though the show has shifted to episodic plots.
>>15692284
Watch Godzilla. Everyone of them.
The original and Shin are masterpieces.
>>15692536
You're talking to a BR who has been programmed since he was congealing in his third-world gutter that Black is the magnum opus without flaws of the entire franchise and that everything that came before or afterwards is complete inferior trash.
>>15692284
The GARO franchise
Just follow the production order
Even the anime isn't bad. Well the first anime and its movie.
>>15694529
He's way more annoying about Juspion and Metalder, honestly.
Kamen Rider Amazons is cool.
