It's one of my favorite 0083 mobile suits and one of my favorite mobile suits in general. It has a very sleek. intimidating look, an interesting history, a background as a hodgepodge robot, and isn't actually that great, all of which I love. I wish it got more screentime.

A weapon to surpass even the GM in terribleness. Truly, Zeon has outdone themselves. And to use it in UC 0096, the absolute madmen!

It's the only mobile suit fielded by any post oyw Zeon splinter faction that makes any narrative sense.

Dra-C is cobbled together from spare parts because the Delaz Fleet and Neo Zeon had to make due with what they had. Kind of like how Gaza-C is a piece of shit, too. Dra-C is cool because it's utilitarian looking though.

And in the case of Mobile Armors, most of those post OYW are related to Axis , who had the resources and capability to produce them and forward them to other Zeonic forces.

In fact, I believe during Char's Deleted Affair (questionable in canon, but a good example all the same) , Haman's father allowed a Mobile Armor to be sent along with some volunteers for some covert action in the Earth sphere.

Zeon was able to get the support of locals on Earth who wanted to be free of the Earth Federation's control. It's why they were easily able to set up in North America because the former USA had an active independence movement resisting the Federation.

speaking from a scientifically realist perspective, The Dra-C is straight up one of the only mobile suit models that would actually be somewhat viable in real space for extended periods of time. Armament is kinda crap but the suit itself is actually pretty phenomenal

Honestly I like the Dra-C's basic weapons. A beamsaber in the shield and a machine gun instead of a right hand manipulator. Even then the machine gun arm can be replaced with a regular arm so it can carry standard Zaku II weaponry.

No it's cool in universe and all, i just meant in terms of gundam stuff working in outer space. Unsurprisingly normal bullets and dumb fired rockets dont really fare so well as weapons out there

Actually they did design, fund and create it and the facilities they built in the Garden of Thrones. If you notice the torso of the Dra-C is that of a Zaku II F2. They went back to basics by having AMBAC be done by thrusters over limbs and going for a high speed hit and run mobile suit and that can zip into an area, do it's job and zip out. Hence why the 'legs' are propellant containers.

There's also a scene right after Gato returns to space where they mentioned they just finished the first production line and were fielding them.
