The dub inserted a lot of stupid shit like the Adventure being an inuniverse show, strangely implying the teacher might be Hikari (I swear that dub actress is a loon), pointless name changes that are par for the course, butchering Jian's character arc with his father, ruining the music(although I do like the dub evolution theme), inserting ships that don't exist (a big reason why the west LOATHES Ryo), and the usual Saban gamut of inserting jokes into everything to abruptly ruin atmosphere/scenes.

Is it better than the other dubs of Digimon? Absolutely. Is it good? Ehhhh.

The dub inserted a lot of flirting between Ruki and Ryo that simply doesn't exist in the original version. I feel the main reason the west violently hates Ryo is because he has a forced romance in the dub(the issue originally is he calls her Ruki and Rukichan instilling familiarity when they were strangers, but the dub made him call her tiger and incessantly flirt with her), where as he is just a fan service character in the original and the crux of his character is to show how the kids should value their relationships with their partner Digimon because Ryo's is a feral beast he cannot connect with outside of battle.

The only problem with Ryo is he wasn't really necessary and in the final battle he somehow is part of the core group which felt wrong. Other than that there's nothing egregiously bad about him, just the Digimon fanbase (particularly the western dubfags) are obsessed with shipping so anything that impedes that or takes away their favorite girl angers them.

Not really. It's a reasonable incentive for Takato designing Guilmon as an OC Agumon clone, nabbing a pair of goggles, and part of their familiarity with normal digimon evolution and combat and such, which provides a contrast when it actually doesn't go the way they expected and they have to learn and adapt.

Really, Ryo is such a convoluted character that its impossible to get him right. I don't know why the producers thought it was a good idea to put him in Tamers. I think even the actual writer for Tamers was pissed off about that.

They should make another reason where the main mon mostly evolves into robots.

Shoutmon was a great idea but what they did with him and the other failed to live up to the fantastic potential of digixros, what with potentially creating many different forms depending the component digimon. Sure, ultimately everybody worth being fused combined into a single digimon, but before reaching that moment they could've been more creative with the fusions.
