Patlabor and Appleseed both predate Gunbuster and have more entertaining and interesting leads. Ghost in the Shell does too, though which the Major is depends on the product. Frankly I think even Nono from Diebuster is a better female lead than Noriko; and yes, I'm aware you'll probably use that alone as justification to dismiss my opinion. Regardless, I like that she struggled through shitty jobs and harassment to become the hero she wanted, while Noriko was basically pushed in to it by coach because he knew her dad. I think it's a more endearing character arc.

I love Symphogear, but XDU is a horrible game.

All of its splendid visual design can't hide that it's barely even a game. The amount of time you are in actual "battles" vs the time you just click through endless menus or view cutscenes is minimal.
The "battles" are implemented as rudimentary as possible while at the same time you can get lost in all of the submenus, upgrade possibilities, etc. It's all about "get cards, collect'em all, pay real money, pay more money to maybe get some rare purely virtual card that has absolute no value at all".

This is nothing more but a shiny hollow cashgrab to suck money out of people while giving almost nothing in return. The best thing is the new art on the cards, and maybe that you get to put your own favorite Symphogear team together if you always dreamt of that.

But honestly, if I have to decide if I put my time into playing XDU or playing Witcher 3 then I know which game is more worth it.

Battle system is simple enough to work in a touch interface but they pull a lot of tricks with encounter setups to keep things interesting, plus setting up chains optimally tends to take thought. Servant skills keep lower star units perfectly viable, plus you can clear the entire campaign with just the units you get from playing the game normally with no monetary investment. You can definitely whale to get a bunch of good units and CEs, but there's no PvP or arena type thing so you're essentially just jerking yourself off.

Most of the valid complaints are entirely about the gacha rates, which you'd only care about if you really wanted to get a waifu or something.

Pokemon Duel has legitimately good gameplay and strategy hidden beneath the Gacha shit and some absolutely terrible systems (like having a chess clock in a game where you can stall). It's just a mobile version of the failed Trading Figure Game, so the gameplay was already thought out and made good before they turned it into a Gacha.
I can't honestly recommend it because of some terrible surface level problems, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of it for a few months.

At the end of GX when Ver is being crushed under the chateau's crumbling rubble, he hands Maria a chip containing his research into perfecting the Linker drug -- As an aside: Hah! At the time, viewers would probably have thought that was a load of romanticist bullcrap. Hell; in universe characters thought it was a load of bullcrap, because Elfnein had been trying to decipher his work but got nowhere fast. It took the FIS girls coming close to the point of getting in tune naturally with their gears for things to click and for her to reach the same epiphany that Ver had reached at the end of GX.

Now watch the reason behind that being a subtle subconscious whisper from the Carol personality in the back of her mind. Because the fact that she explicitly mentioned that she was worthlessly wasting the gift of Carol's body to continue on living was *totally* a not-death flag.

Funny you should put it that way, because if Chris had first secured Stefan and the girl he'd rescued rather than immediately using the opening to go after the commanding officer she was visibly extremely pissed at, it might not have come to Stefan losing a leg.

Tactically speaking there was no reason to go after him with Hibiki and Tsubasa already slamming and dicing the Alchenoise surrounding the larger group of civilians. She just did it to sate her anger and get even.

You have plenty of decent memoria, before farming the kanade try using the feathers to buy books and push one of the 4*s to 40 and use the release card.
You can also try limit breaking some of the duplicate 3*s to fill out the rest of the slots.

I always liked her a lot, G's fight on the sub is still one of my favorite part of the series, then she was kind of disappointing in the later parts of G but I still believed in her and it fucking paid off, more than I honestly believed it would.
