It's alright as of now. They're slowly improving the show as it goes on, they even managed to tone down Lucky's insanity a bit, and the mech fights are fresh again with a new spin (Monsters pilot other mechs, or they sometimes have mechs attacking while they're fighting, or they have some sort of doppelganger, etc). Honestly, they just need to get the characters under control because with Raptor, Garu, and Spada (Possibly also Hammy) you could remove them from the story and absolutely nothing would change barring the people on Earth I think it was getting fed for a day.

It could most certainly hit ToQ/Go-Bus tier if it finds its way.

I don't think they are. They're still kind of that terribly 90's Sentai tape-quality. They may have done some color correction, though, because it does look a bit better than Zyu and Dai.

What did Spada do exactly because I'm blanking on it. There was his focus episode with the food but beside that I can't seem to think of anything else he's done. Hammy was crucial for the sneaking mission and several other times due to her ability in the show, but she hasn't really had time to grow at all.

Garu definitely helped Lucky out of his pinch, and he's important for the first two or so episodes, but besides that I can't really think of anything else he's done besides the focus episode.

We still have 29 episodes or so to work with, let's see what happens. If you'll recall people didn't really like Yoko or Hiromu at the start that much (Hiromu still didn't grow on people that much from what I remember) and Ryuji took until his overheating stuff and Escape fights for him to grow on everyone, and with ToQ we had people not really caring for Kagura or Hikari but they grew on us as the show went on. The general meaning of "Become another ToQ/Go-Bus" for me is simply that it starts off with a rocky start that most people dislike but ramps up and turns into a very enjoyable or beloved show you look upon with good memories later.

We have Naga, Balance, Sho, Kotaro, and Champ and they're all likable characters, as long as they keep Lucky restrained and work on the others and make Stinger a bit less punished I think it could end up just fine. The only real detriment it has is just so-so villains outside of that, Hawktiger is alright but Darth Sidius' crew isn't as fun to watch as say the train crew and they don't even remotely hit Enter's amazing stride, but still.

Not sure if you already know or not, but the Japanese DVDs for Carranger were sourced from shitty analog masters that gave it that VHS/Laserdisc look. From what I hear Shout always gets the same masters for their releases, so there's not much they can do to improve it.

The only way we'll ever get a better version of Carranger is if Toei goes back to the original film masters and does a new transfer. But physical media is dying, and the late 90s shows might require Star Trek TNG levels of effort, so the odds seem very low at this rate.

Ah, that's right, thanks for the refresher. You're right, it just seems like everyone keeps taking a backburner role more than anything which makes me think they haven't done much but fight. Lucky, Naga, Balance, Stinger, Sho, and Kotaro feel like they have actual depth and feel like they're necessary as a whole more than anyone else (Though it's more tipped to Balance rather than Naga, but they're almost always together). I just want them to give everyone equal time to do important things that help the cause which is what I hope they do over the next 30 or so episodes because right now a lot of them just don't feel as important as the guys I listed. Even what's been happening with Champ feels a slight bit rushed to me since we haven't been given much of a reason to care besides him wanting to do good and then becoming friends with Stinger for a day or so.

I actually really like Kotaro. He's active, he's doing what he can to be a good teammate, he's trying to help Stinger, he's good with almost everyone but Hammy, and he has pretty alright fight scenes. Hell, he feels better than Kou was, and he feels equal to the ToQgers when they were kids. All in all I'm surprised he's fun to watch.

I put Garu over Stinger even if doggo had no part of the main story for the second arc because I prefer his combat/humor/general personality over Stinger's much more. Yeah, i much prefer Garu's attitude over Stinger's but sadly he doesn't get as much time to shine. I'm glad when he does though, especially the Sun/Moon episode because it was nice to see him play off of Lucky's power like that. Garu and Raptor need much more time to shine, Hammy is still getting some from time to time so she's fine, Spada needs something more than what he is right now, and Stinger just needs to trust everyone rather than just act so serious 24/7.

Yes and I'm not even trying to shitpost. The only gripes I've had with Ninninger was that outside of Kyuemon, the villains was wasted opportunities especially since Toei had 2 of their biggest VA's in their roster to voice them and also expanding Kinji's arc of turning evil.

Just finished Jetman. Skipped a lot of the uninteresting scenes. I've only watched part of it as a kid. As everyone said, it's one of the more serious sentai season. Feels a lot like Kamen Rider honestly.

I loved Jetman, but the ending after the final boss was immensely lame. I hated Gai being pushed to the sideline, then getting killed randomly. I honestly wished they just ended it with Radiguet going down.
