500 cost is the same as 3000 cost in previous versions. They have much higher performance and potential but naturally low-level players won't see much of it because they don't have the HP to make it forgiving to be bad at the game.

Typically when you pit a team of 2 300s against a strong 500/300 team and the 300s will get pushed around by the 500's presence + the 300's support.

30% cost is only a small buff to the overall cost meta, and they only have the advantage if you assume that the players are bashing against each other and dying at the same speed without taking their toolkit and performance into account.

Except that this game isn't a 1v1. You could theoretically force a double taiman situation, but these will rarely happen and are very undesirable situations to be in as 5030 pairing. You'd make a case in the previous meta where Burst is totally gone if you die while in burst and your 3k's death isn't a huge hit on the gauge, but as mentioned, you not only lose more gauge as a 500, but you lose more in terms of overall amount of burst and the total number of strikers you can use.

You're also underestimating suits like Exia and Sandrock which have arguably more mobility options than most 500s and offer 500 levels of ez damage output at a MUCH lower cost.

A suit with multiple cancels, strong melee, a ranged gerobi to boot and a suit with Zero System, and a shielded BC, sub with big hit box and good tracking are both something you should never underestimate.

General buffs in tracking to missile type projectiles and removal of plenty of cancel routes for 500s means its harder to waltz into 2 300s and not lose a war of attrition.

Don't expect the meta to be anything like Full Boost.

That's a very naive and idealistic way of looking at things as tiers and suits picks matter heavily. PDF 2015 was basically dominated by high tiers to the point that the winner requested that the suits being used be looked into for rebalance. It's no coincidence that shortly after, the aforementioned suits (Blitz, Dreadnought, Sandrock, Strike Freedom and Banshee Norn) were given the nerfbat.

The finals were dominated by the same high tier suits and the same 3k2k meta. 3k2.5k predictably got their shit pushed in and the IIRC only one 1.5k (Hildolfr paired with Rozen Zulu) made it into the top 16.

Player skill can only bring you so far. Beyond that you need every edge you can get, and that includes tier whoring and sticking to the meta. You absolutely could get lucky with an off-meta pick/composition, but that's the exception, not the norm.

Been fooling around with ground gundam a bit. It gets a missile launcher sub in machine gun mode and a net gun in cannon mode. The missile launcher seems good and the ground gundam retained its break cancel.

I was never any good with it in EXVS mind you, so I can't say for certain whether or not it's better or worse this time around.
