A very underappreciated type of mecha. What are your favorites?
I WANT YOU I LOVE YOU FAIRY DREAMIN'
The only Organic mecha I like the concept of have non-organic shells over them.
Wouldnt Evangelion count?
Organic =/= mecha
Fuck off.
>>15649888
(You)
>>15649880
I was thinking of this.
>>15649888
>Godzilla threads are OK
>Monster of the Week threads are OK
>Organic =/= Mecha
You are a special kind of stupid, son.
>>15649664
Splicers RPG is awesome for anyone who likes a good biomech
>>15649664
The Nirvash, Devilfish and King gainer are my favorites
>>15649916
Wormwood is another good palladium book for this. basically the soil wood and rock and stuff on the planet is living protoplasm and they use it to build armor and mecha among other things

>>15649664
legit question, how does a mecha is organic?
like you control a living body from the inside? like a super parasite? or is like in AoT where you control a super yourself?
>>15649664
This had great organic mecha in it
>>15653353
Psychic connection
fucking magic
Syncing brainwaves (Pacific Rim, Evangelion)
brain/nerve implants
Joysticks
>>15649664
Does brain powerd counts ?
>>15653383
>>15653353
Hmmm.
So one feasible manner to be a pilot is to go through an intensive modification process that bonds parasites implanted underneath your skin to your nerve endings so that the neural feelers in the cockpit are able to get input directly from your mind?two pilots bumping into each other is like getting static electricity, except with hallucinations
>>15653492
Is it any good? I wanted to watch it, but the infant noises and childlike manner of being of giant fucking robotsyeah, from what I know they're living beings and antagonists use the adult forms of the same species, BUT STILLis such a turn off for me that I couldn't force myself to. They look really great though, organic looking / biological mecha are amongs my favorites.
Here have some crabs
Pure organic is shit. You need metal to cover the fleshy bits.
>>15655842
It is and still is the most tomino show ever.
Here the pros and cons;
+Alien psychic robot that power by human's emotions
+Good op and ed
-Pacing issues
-A lot of QUALITY
?Tomino characters doing tomino thing
?Antagonists are interesting
?It more of a journey than a story
A word of cation; IF you can't stomach through g no reconguista, then this not for you.
Tekkaman blade twin blood

>>15655983
this fucking board i swear
pure organic is not mecha
>>15649664
>>15656264
This count?
>>15649910
Those were at least tolerated because they show up in a lot of /m/ franchises, be it 70's toei bots or modern toku shows. They at least have a common element.
Shit like King Kong can fuck right off, that's in no way related to anything.
>>15656860
>>15655842
Imo it was the best mecha anime of the 90s along with Gasaraki. It is 110% Tomino though, and once in a while a character will act so erratic that you may have a hard time figuring out what their deal is ( usually upon a bit of reflection it makes sense, but can be jarring in the moment).
Where are the Aura Battlers ?
So about half of digimon counts right?
>>15657673
No, because most mechanical Digimon are just straight up robots or creatures in power armor. There are some exceptions though
>>15656814
Should count, I love the Bydo ships.
>>15656243
>IF you can't stomach through g no reconguista, then this not for you.
Huh, I throughly enjoyed Brain Powerd's weirdness, but Reconguista didn't do the same for me at all.
Is there any organic mecha that's controlled like those giant larva buses from Morrowind? Where you pinch its inside nerves directly?
>>15649664
What was that old PC rpg game where you controlled a team of aliens with evolving power suits as you leveled up/played? Anyone remember?
>>15657722
The fish people's vehicles in that one episode of Samurai Jack were like that
>>15650779
>they could mate
Oh fuck.
>>15657696
I guess theyre all digital anyways but the most profilic ones I can remember are like that. Andromon, metalseadramon, gargomon..
>>15649664
>ctrl-f "Yuuzhan Vong"
>no results
>>15657722
nBSG's captured Cylon raiders were controlled like that.
>>15657955
>Metal Seadramon
Has practically no organic parts on it aside from the hair, the tongue, and maybe a few bits where the fins extend?
>Dub Gargomon
Just a big dog with gun hands. Not what I'd call bio mecha
>Jap Gargomon
Angelic looking beast with a lot of belts and a shoulderpad
>>15657713
I think that is because lack of interactions between protagonists and antagonists and the fights are underwhelming.
While i still here, does wulgaru from majestic prince count?
>>15657994
>no results
Thank fucking God.
Does Tekkaman count? The armor is acquired through biological means, but it's difficult to say if the armor itself is organic or not
>>15650784
>>15656263
I don't know how many times i've seen that short
Also, guyver's pretty cool. And bellcross. He punches through spacetime and isn't afraid of anything.
Bu seriously though, you can have pure organic mecha, as long as the organic bits are arranged in a mechanical form. WHICH VERY RARELY HAPPENS
Something like eva is obviously biomechanical.
I think if brain powerds are confirmed to be silicon based lifeforms, they might fit the bill.
>>15657994
I need to remind myself, that no matter how much of a dull OT rehash the new Star Wars trilogy can be, at least it doesn't have the Yuuzhan Vong.
>>15658567
Of course there is a counter argument to this, where the mechanical part of the unit is considered separate from the organic part, in which case fuck all what I just said
>>15657039
>Where are the Aura Battlers
They're all dead of course.
>>15657994
>>15658539
>>15658572
I only know about the Yuuzhan Vong from wikiwalking, why all the hate behind them?
>>15658724
Not muh Star Wars, mostly. And being an expy for Islamic terrorism which was all the rage in popular media at the time.
Personally I thought they were a welcome reprieve from all the superweapon-of-the-week plots the early EU was notorious for.
Scrin from tiberium look pretty organic to me.
>>15658140
Ther's no difference between the Gargomons
>>15659255
This is Gargomon in English (known as ガルゴモン, Galgomon in Japanese, Galgo being a word for a type of dog in English)
>>15659255
>>15659647
And this is Japan's ガーゴモン, or Gargomon, known as "Gargoylemon" in English for obvious reasons
>>15658544
Wasn't the armor supposed to be hard light or something?
>>15653378
the big naked dudes in attack on titan are not mecha. go back to /a/ and also back in time to 2013 while you're at it.
>>15660566
Why not go further back in time and create a time paradox? Something interesting might happen. Best case scenario the fabric of reality itself gets torn apart and our miserable existence will have never happened.
>>15660397
I'm not sure. I don't recall any explanation of what the armor really is
>>15660701
Make it /m/ related. Like go back to 1985 and make it so that Tomino makes compilation movies of Zeta instead of ZZ which leads into CCAs.Wait that's not a time paradox, that ended up happening with A New Translation's retcon.
But in regards to OP, you're thinking of cyborgs, not organic mechas, that's a walking contradiction.
What about some of the things in Half Life 2?
>>15657730
It's literally called "Evolva"
>>15660566
But they`re actually biological mecha. And AoT is the one mainstream anime that`s actually good.
>>15649888
>Guyver isn't /m/ related
Cancer
>>15658544
Definitely organic in the Twin Blood OVA
Can't forget El Medine
>>15664474
>>15664465
I'm still pissed that the designs in that OVA have not been touched. The suit felt far more like a biological alien weapon and it's prime material for a series.
>>15664476
that's neat, but what does it have to do with Ideon?
>>15665104
Maybe when Tatsunoko gets around to rebooting the reboot we'll get to see them in action again. They're definitely my favorite interpretation of Tekkaman.
>>15664469
El Medine was a robot, not organic.
>>15649664
>Organic Mecha
>What are your favorites?
It's a toku mech episode.
>>15665104
Probably because back in the day I remember Tekkaman being compared to Guyver quite a bit already, going with the biological armor will only compare the two more. I feel their differences help them stand apart from each other a bit better
>Outta my way mecha fucking shits
Make way for the fucking GOAT. The things from Demon of Steel were cool too. I loved the integration of flesh and steel, like how the skin would stretch and tear when the wings/thrusters unfolded.
>>15662013
isn't it a shame that AOT anime didn't have more of >>15666108 and less edgy teen garbage? It would be cool if the focus was actually on these "mechs" and not on dumb grappling acrobat samurai. also nice digits
>>15649664
We would have seen what organic mecha's gameplay could be, but ZOE 3 was cancelled.
>>15649664
>organic daemonic mecha with world eating powers
>Doomguy doesn't give a shit and proceeds to rape said mechas and demons with his bare fucking feet
would he be the perfect pilot for a /m/ SRW series?
>>15658544
>but it's difficult to say if the armor itself is organic or not
I always wondered about that shit
>biologically modified to become radam soldier
>summon suit of power armor
????
>>15668054
There's that one stand-alone OVA or whatever that showed the tekkaman armor is actually the character's true form, forming when his body contorts and mutates into his weaponized state. I think the armor from the actual show could definitely be considered biological too, only more refined-looking for tv audiences.
>>15666137
GOAT soundtrack, more like.
>>15655842
It's got low production values, but everything else is serviceable and Yoko Kanno's score is great.
>>15657722
Isn't Jushin Liger kinda like that? Directly pulling its tendons or whatever.
All of the warframes are biomechanical, but Nidus, Chroma and Saryn are the most organic.
>>15653353
Anything that emulates living organisms. Think something like Raiden from MGS4, all his cyborg body is built like a human's, muscles, bones and even blood is all synthetic but works the same way.
Vajra from macross.
All this talk of organic mecha makes me want to go back and watch Eva but then I remember how much I hated the teenage drama and especially Shinji and Asuka.
>>15670591
>Warframes
>Mecha
>>15671071
Neither is Tekkaman Blade and that got posted.
>>15670591
>Nidus, Chroma and Saryn are the most organic
Perhaps, but everyone knows thatRhinois the cutest.
Surprised no one has posted this one yet.
>>15672713
Ick.
>>15664476
Radical!
Do ships made of wood count??
>>15671041
subscribed
>>15676859
Update: I binged episodes 21 through EoE. Made me appreciate the designs a bit more but it was still a huge waste of time. >>15677176 sums it up pretty well.
>>15677201
You're a fag.
>>15672713
Might have something to do with Bionis not being a mecha.
Best knight for best character.
>>15677964
You're comment is just a step below "no u."
You've been warned.
