I thnk it's trying to say that the new kit has more articulation at those points. The old MG kit for instance couldn't turn at the waist because of the combining feature with the core lander. I don't remember the knees being a problem but maybe they've improved its stability. For the shoulders they've clearly increased the range of motion to make it more poseable. And maybe strengthened so it can actually hold it's rifle up without drooping.
