Can anyone recommend some stand alone mech movies?

Robot Carnival
Akira
Metropolis (both original and 1980s anime)
Venus Wars

Legend of the Blue Wolves is really good if you can ignore/skip the gay porn. I am not joking or trolling - the action scenes are really well done, the mech designs are fantastic (especially if you like ZZ Gundam) and the romance subplot was surprisingly not cringe-inducing.

Strait Jacket is a nice little OVA about magical power armor which I hear is also available in movie form
>>15640876
Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01, is a short and fun ride.
The Iron Giant
If you can take the robots being not-giant, Armitage III is pretty good.

Rakuen Tsuiho
Five Star Stories. I mean it's really standalone, but it is self-contained.

I love that the main villain is a tank fanatic who's upset that a robot dared to upstage his beloved vehicles.

You can watch DYRL and Plus without touching anything else
>>15642617
Do you not know what that word means? You can watch DYRL and Plus (and if you want to count the two Macross F movies) without needing to watch anything else.

I just watched it, it was pretty boring besides all the interesting mech designs. Oh well.
>>15649534
Oh, what a shame you found it to be. The story is indeed pretty tame to boring and it could maybe have used of more action, but I find it to be a good bargain for forty or so minutes. And the mechanical desings and actions sequences really stick.

Any one remember this live action movie?
Gunhed

I remember watching it and being a bit underwhelmed but it was years ago.

Sushi Sloppers, still don't know what that guy was talking about.
