I wasn't expecting them to use that traditional chant (can't remember its name) that they used in the initial teaser.

>can't remember its name

"Soran Bushi." It's an old sea shanty for fishermen.
>>
That was a good ride. There's one last thing to do, of course, but I can already say this was a fantastic show. I didn't think that's how they'd end it, some foreshadowing would have been nice as this was kind of a last-minute reveal, but the plan itself was very much in the spirit of the show.
>>
Also, to the Japanese friends who are translating these comments, thanks for being with us. I wish I found your site earlier. Would have been fun to theorize together during the earlier episodes. Please buy the BDs, and maybe someone here will buy BDs, too.

People seem to like this, can someone give me an overview of this show?
>>
>>15641427
It's basically a story about space miners in a world where mind transfer technology exists and a particular mineral, orichalt, is used both as part of this system and for travel purposes.

Within this framework, you have Maya, a young girl, who runs into the miners and joins their crew, as well as Ido, the blue robot suit up there, who lacks his memories and desperately seeks out orichalt.

Various adventures and mysteries happen afterwards, leading up to a pretty good climax where everything is revealed and mostly makes sense.

So... is ID-0 on Netflix outside of Japan yet? As in, can we save time not subbing the last episode, or is there no translation yet?
>>
>>15643565
I'm guessing sometime July or August but I can't find any announcements for a release date aside from the original stuff about it being a Netflix exclusive. I couldn't even find it on Netflix's list of upcoming shows.

>>15643675
So it's some time until that, then. Ok, gonna start on it then until TL anon comes.

>>15644130
>reconciled with FA-Loser
My sides were in orbit, everyone had bright perspectives, and only Rick got this completely random message.
>>
>>15644185

To be fair, Rick didn't really have a storyline to be resolved. His whole "I'm a copy" thing was dropped out of nowhere and resolved within a couple of minutes.

I kind of wish the show were two cours instead of one. A lot of characters got shafted in the focus department because they had to spend so much time on the Kain/Addams thing. For example, we never did learn more about the incident that turned Grayman into an Evertrancer or how he and Clair started Escavate, which would have been pretty interesting. Amanza didn't do much of anything after becoming the team's ally, which was a shame because she had potential.
>>
>>15644301
Well, that wasn't really an active conflict, more like an explanation for why Rick acts like this now.

I agree that having more episodes might have allowed them to explore additional details, but I think they did enough within 12 episodes (arguably more than certain shows with twice that length). I suppose they also left some potential for expansion on purpose, which might be reflected in the novels since a sequel is highly unlikely given the low sales.
>>
>>15644185
Thanks, anon. You did a great job. I hope the other translator will be able to help with a couple of the remaining terms that could use some more suggestions.
>>
>>15644185
>only Rick got this completely random message.
I think it's appropriate since rick's character is pretty carefree. He's just chill like that.
>>
So wait, Orichalt is basically Scub Coral?
>>
>>15644320
I'd agree they really worked within their limitations. They had a story that was filled out and they fit it the best they could in what they were given, even if that meant some events just sort of feel there because they have to happen. It makes me think of some shows that were two cour that padded out both cours with boring pointless expositive dialogue. Even here when exposition was necessary they still attempted to make the discussions full of character to make it seem like people actually talking rather than an info-dump.

Except for episode 11. That was kind of fucked in terms of delivery since there was a lot of information they needed to get out in one episode.

This was a really enjoyable series. Big thanks to all you anons who busted your asses to get decent subs out in a timely manner. I'm a little sad that the show seems to have been kind of ignored at large, but at the very least this proves that it's loved by at least some people.
>>
>>15646102
Thanks to everyone who worked on this series for the past 12 weeks. I'm truly grateful that you all came together to save us from Netflix, I'm happy I got to watch this as a seasonal anime, the way it was intended, not forcing me to do their binge because that's how they do things. I also have to say it also makes me happy anons subbed this because it's so small and it wasn't hyped up at all which made it extra surprising to learn it was getting subbed. It was a fun ride and I'm glad I got to watch with everyone these last 12 weeks.

>>
Man, I'll miss these threads and discussions, maybe we might still see each other when other anons see this on netflix for the first time
>>
>>15646684
Yeah, that's the implication, but it was put in like an afterthought and it's lack of closure retroactively puts any scene with him and adams in it pointless. The old man didn't direct him towards anything anyway so adams might as well have been talking to himself or a kain stand-in in those scenes. It'd even add to his craziness.

As it stands it come off as a really half-baked bit hastily shoved in. Also this is the last place I expected a shoehorned woman to ensure that a male character got a case of the not-gays.
>>
Thank you all to all the hard-working Anons who translated and arranged the fansub.

Much appreciated, this was one of my favorite anime of the season.

>>
Does anyone else really like the ED? I know it is barely English, but it is really catchy.
>>
>>15647333

>barely English

It's perfectly fine English. Kageyama just has a really thick accent.
>>
>>15647333
I liked the mood and yes, over time it does become catchy. I didn't mind the Engrish accent because Japan has been doing that for decades and I am used to Kageyama's voice
>>
TL anon here, I wanted to thank everyone involved in this. The subs wouldn't have been possible without everyone who TLC'd, timed, QC'd and translated when I wasn't available. I haven't really ever properly subbed anything before this, so this was a good experience for me as well. I'll try to get around to subbing the shorts soon.
Maybe when Netflix releases it you'll be able to enjoy proper subs not written by an ESL.
>>
>>15647395
Thanks a lot for your help. It was largely understandable so I don't have any real issues with your work.
>>
I'm not overly happy with the ending, while I think it did a good job wrapping everything up, it felt a bit rushed. Overall I think this was a good show but I'm left wanting more. They did a great job with the twelve episodes they got but it really felt like it needed more. Glad I watched it though, it's been fun speculating and discussing things with /m/ as we waited for the TL anons to work their magic.

Thanks to the Anons who translated it over these past couple months. We need more people like you.
>>
>>15646102
Arigatous gozaimasu, members if ID-anon.

You guys rock!
>>
Just binged the show. It was pretty fantastic, even though the ending was rushed. Thanks to the translators for the random translation job.

Makes me wish there was people who did stuff like this more often. It would make /m/ more interesting.
>>
This was only 12 episodes? I should probably watch it. Is there good robot action? The designs look cool.
>>
>>15647624
Well, most shows are getting simulcasted (and toku always has fansubs), and the only one that currently isn't, Drive Head, is also getting translated by /m/. I think we're pretty solid on making sure the new cartoons are translated.

What we can do besides this, of course, is find and scanlate /m/anga, translate VNs (a daunting task, and let's hope MG picks up Muramasa eventually) and of course help out the groups that tackle old series. I may be assuming things, but I think Luurah, Starseeker and others would always appreciate extra hands, especially if you know Japanese. Even Ginguiser is getting subs, and there are so many more memetic robots out there! Not to mention that some shows only have crabsticks, like the second half of Tobikage.
>>
>>15647671
It's not really typical robot action, most I-Machines are civilian and mining equipment and even the army ones don't differ much besides having rifles. But the main character is basically a space ninja with kunais so there is some fun action, of course. Gets progressively more awesome with the Koyasu character showing his true colors, and then there are planetary-scale issues to deal with.

But there's also _a lot_ of talking.
>>

I wish there were a few more minutes at the end but it was a really fun experience. Despite the characters and execution being nothing special, I thought it was a really unique anime overall.

Also Adams did nothing wrong.
>>
Good ending to an overall great show. I wish it had 24 episodes, but overall it used those 12 episodes effectively. Part of me still just wanted a bunch of people mining ore in space, but I suppose you need a bit of a grander story if you want a nice ending too.

I think they should of skipped the OP to tell some more on the characters instead of what we got during the ED.... damn, I got a bit attached to this show, sigh.
>>
>>15647840
I wish it had 24 episodes so that it wasn't constant plot go-time, and so that we could've had some time for space mining adventures.
>>
Thanks for all the hard work, ID-Anon(s). Fantastic show to watch.
>>
Marathon'd the last 5 episodes just now, thought it was a thoroughly nice show. I can't really attest to it being great, but at the very least I liked it and thought it was entertaining. Would have been even better if they fleshed things like the characters and setting out a bit more and given a bit more depth, but for what it is it's a nice show. Koyasu and Midorikawa (original Kane)'s performances in the flashbacks in episode 10 were quite good.

Also this.
>>
>>15648424
I'd say it's in the 7.5-8.10 range, so not great but still very good in the middle of the current lack of interesting original mecha anime (ie: stuff that's not from established properties).

The Rick thing should be clear on the BD since apparently it will translate Fa-Loser's dialog. But Rick and Amanza shouldn't be at full romance yet. Too soon. Just teasing is fine for now.

I liked Addams not dying like a true bad guy per se. He wasn't entirely evi. Just misguided.

Maya and Ido are stil on good terms, he trusts her information quite openly in the final scene, so who knows what the future wil bring.

OST is nice, though there are a couple of themes in Disc 2 that I don't recall hearing. I guess that's not unusual in shorter shows though
>>
Thanks for the subs, anons. I'm glad to have watched this show with all of you.
>>
Finally got around to watching the last episode; while rushed and a bit cliched at times, the series was definitely enjoyable and a solid original piece, especially when compared to the other originals that aired this season.
Thanks to the anons who subbed the show, a lot of people, myself included, would have missed out on this if not for your efforts.

Yup, they're gonna be those little omanjuu things. All of this is coming out in august; I didn't find a specific date.

Merchandise and ED coming out in August. Is that perhaps a hint on when the show will be up on Netflix?
>>
>>15661416
The DVD/BD is coming out in late August. Hopefully the Netflix release is already happening by then. Maybe they are going to dub it?

Is that voice actor strike still going on? Hard to predict who would voice who when so many big names are out of the picture.
>>
>>15662402
That's irrelevant to anime and what not.

That's strictly video games.

Wait, what's the story on this?

Oh okay nvm, carry on /m/en.

Thankfully. Too bad for gamers and /m/ games though.

Quiz episodes subs when anon?

Voice actors think they deserve to be paid as much as "real" actors and the SAG-AFTRA goes on strike. The video game industry doesn't give a shit and starts hiring nobodies/up-and-coming non-union VAs like Rina-chan (e.g. 2B in Nier Automata), which doesn't delay them at all and is actually somewhat cheaper in the long run.

On the anime side of things, there is no strike. However, the way it works in the US is that unions basically strongarm dubbing companies into using all-union VAs. That is, if you use a non-union VA, you're basically prohibited from using union VAs as well. Used to be that union VAs would just use a pseudonym (e.g. Steve Blum as "David Lucas"), but unions have become less lenient about that in recent years.
>>
>>15665198
No one cares about western VAs anyways except for the normalfags.
>>
>>15666448
Even so, I guess they do have the right to ask for better conditions, regardless of how little this will affect anime.
>>
>>15667498
They are asking for royalties, but they should be asking for much more, so their silly strike can continue for another 2 years.
>>
Show's going to be on Nico Nico, so at least a few more people in Japan will watch now

Thanks for the TL anons, this show was damn great, i'm sad tgat the ending was rushed and that the show didnt get as many episodes as it deserves, but it still was a very interesting show and got me hooked until the end.
A shame that a second season is less likely to happen
>>
What a fun little show.

Big thank you to the dudes who helped translate it.

What's everyone's take away on these two?

Setup for ID-0 S2?
>>
>>15670749

It was a weird sequence and it felt out of place, especially considering they were rendered in 2D.
>>
>>15670765
I think it may have been faster to do it all in 2D than coming up with a new model for characters that'd be used for such a short scene.

I did giggle at the old voices coming from such clearly young bodies, though. That was funny.

Spruce timer here. I tried to post this earlier but site wouldn't let me post for some reason. Anyways, I been having PC issues with it turning off/on randomly. Ordered replacement parts but I did say this would be out by Wednesday last week and here its Thursday today. Sorry 'bout that not much I can do plus with being busy on top of that to completely finish this. So with all of this Episode 01-04 regrettably I could not make the timing a bit better there which only raises my OCD and laziness and I see I faild to fill in Ido's name completely 3 times at least.

Whoever does the BD could fix this issue. No changes to episode 11-12. No patches 'cuz dunno how to make one as of yet.

Link to batches 01-12 from Tokyotosho if anybody still hasn't watched it - magnet:?xt=urn:btih:ND6SDJOWKYKAYUECAGPPSJL2OG2HS55X

AnimeTosho link - https://animetosho.org/series/id-0.12318

Just the .ASS file (fonts and chapters) for episodes 01-10 only - https://my.mixtape.moe/idecwv.zip

About the quiz show stuff. It's up to TL-kun(s) and some other timer.

It's too little screen time to even qualify as a subplot, DESU.
>>
>>15670749
It's there to explicitly show that yes, immortal greedy bastards who jump from body to body do exist and they were backing Addams, but he betrayed them. Not much else.

Thanks for everything anon. There's a couple of remaining grammar nitpicks here and there, but I am grateful for the work you and everyone else did here.

I know about it. With PC issues being a big problem for me for the last 5 days (I think my PSU is overheating and dying) having no clue when it'll turn off I focused on seeing if lines will fit the 2 sentence structure and other minor fixes I spotted and correcting character names and stuff like that but even with that in ep1 if you watched it yourself I failed to spot Ido's name. Shows up as "Id".

If I didn't have this issue I would of carefully took my time on reading the script, timed, edit, qc'd, distro like I done with ep05-12.

Trust me it bothers the hell out of me I didn't really finish this up but this batch is already late when I stated above when this it'll be released when my PC wasn't being the bitch it is right now.
>>
>>15670915
Don't worry. I wasn't criticizing that. PC issues are often terrible to deal with, so I understand.
