Does this show count as /m/, given that it's about a boy and his car wagon that has the ghost of the former's pet dog possessing the latter?
I have vague fucking memories of this.

Even better. You can relive them by watching them. The production team uploaded the show's first fifteen episodes on Youtube. Regretfully, they're in English dub. Start here:

Also, just found out that original creator and director Tetsuro Amino, and scriptwriter Akira Okeya, have been involved with numerous mecha anime. Here's proof:

This show kinda reminds me of Gaogaigar for some reason
>>15636697
I watched it when I was a kid and I wanted to punch the baby.
>>15636697
Putt-putt, is that you?
>>15636697
I remember within the light hearted nature of the show, it has a pretty depressing concept. I think it's about how this kid has a dog, the dog died of an accident, the kid was in deep psychological scar, then the soul of his dog went into his toy car and then the kid starts befriend the car while their parents all this time obviously oblivious that the toy car is talking and so on.
>>15636697
That is one goofy-looking car.
>>15636697
About as much as Hei! Bumbu, which also stars a living car.
>>15636731
>English dub
That's the first I even heard of that, although I'm guessing it's a Filipino one.
>>15636697
FUCK THE MEMORIES ARE COMING BACK
I just remembered all the side characters, like the two rapping kids and the little girl with the broom.
>>15636731
>Be a little girl
>tell your friend that his magic car-dog isn't real because everything dies.
Holy shit that kid is hardcore. BTW thanks for the link this show is great.
>>15636721
wow, same here like some forgiven childhood memories just unlocked in my head.
>>15636697
Kids have tons of imagination.
I am actually surprised that the characters have English names, but they are usually referred to as boku, papa, and mama.
>>15637078
This show is pretty great to be honest. Its got this innocence you don't really see in most children's anime.
>>15636697
>the mom and babysitter
UGH no porn anywhere!
>>15638168
Well, it does help that the script writer did work on some Fujiko F. Fujio stuff. Can't go too wrong with Amino stuff, too.
>Energon
Okeya didn't deserve this.
>>15636697
And I thought My Mother The Car was a weird premise.
>>15636697
I'd say extremely tenuously but probably I'd err on the side of no.
>>15636950
>>I think it's about how this kid has a dog, the dog died of an accident, the kid was in deep psychological scar, then the soul of his dog went into his toy car and then the kid starts befriend the car while their parents all this time obviously oblivious that the toy car is talking and so on.
You're correct on that one.
>>15637078
>>That's the first I even heard of that, although I'm guessing it's a Filipino one.
I doubt it. I think the following were in the dub:
1. Derek Stephen Prince: ChaCha
2. Julie Ann Taylor: Connie/Buddy's Mom
3. Wendee Lee: Katherine

>>I am actually surprised that the characters have English names, but they are usually referred to as boku, papa, and mama.
I was surprised too. I mean, for a Japanese show, the homework was done really well on how an American town looks like.

>doggos for machine spirits
Toll the great bell once!

Bubu's mom is cute
>>15638523
Good to know then, though it is strange that no site lists the English VAs at all. Not even Wikipedia has them.
>>15639385
Fair warning: I might be wrong as to who voices who in English. I just based my guesses on past dubs I've watched.
It is funny how they refer to the kid as boku as with Japanese culture to accustomed the kid to use that personal pronoun.
>>15640655
Considering that this is a children's show despite the premise, it was probably deliberate.
>>15639427
That's fair. At any rate, it's interesting how this seems to have been liked enough to get a second season in the early 00s. You'd think it wouldn't have gotten much traction.
>>15643607
I'm surprised too. I mean, I was confused as to whether the full show was called "BuBu ChaCha" or "Daisuki! BuBu ChaCha." Turns out the latter refers to the second season.
Also, have you gotten to the links in >>15638710?
>>15643692
They all work, thanks.
>>15636731
>tfw it's 1AM and I'm watching toddlercon/mecha furry fodder
That opening animation doesn't deserves to be that good and catchy
Finally got back to the show with episode 7. Anyone noticed the fact if the show is in the United States, the state Greenhill is in might be Ohio, given Buddy/Randy claiming his grandmother lives in Cleveland (though Buddy/Randy called it "Cleverland.")?
