Why can't a kid's show be art?
Turn A Gundam.
The designs are great, the art is great, the music is great, even the concept is pretty neat.
>>15634751
That looks like shit.
>>15634073
Looks legit.

>All this beautiful animation fluidity put into a character acting like a retard
I don't know what else I expected of Cobra
>>15635116
This attitude is why you're not irresistible to women. You're no fun and you have no personality.
Ginguiser
>>15635125
Come on, if Cobra wasn't handsome he wouldn't get away with that shit.
>>15635192
Cobra just looks like a big dumb goofball, though.
>>15635192
Oh you're one of those guys who blames your lack of game on your looks, aren't you
>>15634073
>Turn A
>>15634912
You obviously don't know shit about animation.
>>15635240
>>15635244
No, he's right. It's really not a great example. There is lots of perspective movement, but it's really jerky with a low framerate and low detail. The animation also lacks a sense of speed and weight. That's not even getting into the actual cinematography of the scene, which is pretty bad imo. Ironically, you don't know shit about animation.
>>15634912
You have poor eyesight.
>>15635294
Everything stays consistently on model. You don't know shit about animation.
GitS Stand-Alone Complex.
>>15635430
>Everything stays consistently on model.
This might be a plus if you were talking about CG animation, but hand drawn animation relies a ton on using off model drawings to effectively convey weight and motion.
>>15635240
Shard yourself into a Hard Light and ricochet into Atheon's pocket dimension, my man.
>>15634061
Where can I find a decent quality download of this?
>>15634909
The New York Times said it was "sophisticated and artful."
>>15635458
They said something was sophisticated and artful. Not sure it was MD Geist since there were ellipsis both before and after the quote. I wonder if that article is available on the web
>>15635430
>Everything stays consistently on model.
Is that supposed to refute anything I said? lol
>>15634629
An incomplete one on the top of that.
>>15635478
They just meant anime in general:
>A breed of sophisticated and artful if often extremely violent and frankly sexual Japanese animation, anime has been popular for about six years in this country. The ''Geist'' film is distributed by Central Park Media, which currently releases three videos a month with titles like ''Tokyo Babylon,'' ''Animated Trooper Votoms'' and ''Cyber City Oedo 808.''

Oh wow, and the article was referencing Death Force and yet the quote appears on the box of the first one. Furthermore
>Death Force on Billboard's video sales charts
I can't even imagine how much shilling CPM had to do to make that happen
>>15635442
What is this I must know

Man, I really wish Wings of Honneamise did more for me. I went into it expecting to love it but came out kinda disappointed.
No one mentioned Betterman yet?
>>15635116
Dezaki had a tendency to add scenes in just to try out a cool animation idea he had.
Bless him, the anime industry could use more people like him.
>>15635240
>Doesn't think Turn A is a masterpiece
That's fine, I respect your choice to be wrong
>>15635021
To be fair, that bed looks irresistibly comfy.
Turn A was a shit. Syd Mead a fucking hack.
