ironically this suit and the pilot would fit in wing, UC and even G Gundam.

Novel (actual novel, not LN) adaptations into anime are a thing of the past. The best you can hope for is a stand-alone film, like Genocidal Organ.

The novel's translation to English is a total mess. Even the parts that seem translated correctly make it seem very uncool anyway. The only part it gets right is the attention to technical detail.

Do you have a basis for saying that?
Reposting this.

Also they referenced the suits from Rocket Girls.

The monkeys of the future
Don't judge me, this is used as a pilot suit in this series.and it is justified, you'll die in a second if the mecha is destroyed so you might as well pilot with a comfy suit

I want to find whoever got the Space Battleship Yamato dress code accepted and give him a job.
>>15636435
>Men wear proper military uniforms
>Women all wear tight ass hugging space suits
Im not complaining mind you but it is a noticeable disparity for little to no antiquity described reason

The human race is on the edge of extinction and they need babies?

STANK
>>15636493
So long as it is socially accepted, who are we to judge?
Today men can't wear miniskirt or dress except in very specific place and context.
I'm the guy making weird story and space-swimsuit essay, here's another storyline:
Some investigator take as a whimsy bet to find out why female uniform "keep getting sexier and sexier".
The investigation turn out to be muuuuuch deeper and freaky than he imagined.
There's an actual conspiracy from a bunch of female Admiral trying to create a matriarchy by applying rigorously gender equity (no feminism please!) but controlling/dominating males through sex appeal.
Looking for who actually let that conspiracy happen the investigator follow the butler (always them!) who look to be the tools of a male admiral, turn out he is himself the puppet of his falsely submissive wife.
After a chase by women soldier in bikini with guns (they were all on a female-only vacation space colony) and other hilarity, he unravel his way to the upmost highest seat of power, he discover the Omnipotent Supreme Messianic Council of Wisdom simply wanted mankind to have more child to justify invading new land, but civilian weren't patriotic enough.after hearing that the investigator just leave, unworried because he's noticed during all his journey that military were only interested in SEX not child and pretty happy with the peace.
Nothing can stop my madness and I happen to be slightly drunk right now.

That makes sense doesn't it? Since they piss and their suit and stuff.

>>15637587
all this proves is that nihei is a pervert
>>15636493
It's a quirk of the time Yamato was made. Something like Muv-Luv, in comparison, is more even in having people wear tight suits in the military (although some girls get custom color schemes, but that's the extent of it).

>It's a quirk of the time Yamato was made.
Actually, the remake enhanced even more the distinction. Although even in the original the men had looser pants, while Yuki's was all form fitting, in the remake the men's suits became more military-like, while the women's received a bunch of extra lines to accentuate the body hugging.
>>15639442
Sorta makes sense. For remakes, reimaginings and what have you, what's seen as attractive back in the day gets updated for modern tastes.
Still a bit perv-minded, admittedly, but expected.
>>15634919
With that suit you'll die whatever happens which is stupid. If the mecha is incapacitated you can still survive with a normal pilot's suit. But with a bathing suit you're hosed. That was the most stupid element of Gunbuster.
>>15639449
It is Xebec, after all
>>15639467
It's fanservice but your logic isn't better,
If you have 0.0001% chance of surviving in a normal suit, but it raise your risk of dying because that's a bulky suit that reduce your reflex, what the point?
If you get to the point you have to abandon Gunbuster, you fucked up and nobody would get to you.

>he doesn't look at her ass
is he, dare I say, a homo?

He got a pretty full view of it when she swung it around.
He didn't even have to move his eyes
I've been a fan of Dougram's pilot suit ever since I first saw it. It's simple, practical, and neat. I like the Vietnam War vibes it gives too.
Gundam has some of the best looking pilot suits.
>>15640440I actually like them more than skintight suits to be honest
>>15640453
It's alright. Skintight suits are a stupid meme. Macross had some good ones too before Frontier and Delta dropped the ball. Mostly Delta.
>>15640440
>Gundam has some of the best looking pilot suits.
Not even close. CCA has cool and realistic suits, but Zeta, ZZ, even the original ?
Hell no, those suits either look like bibendums or not spacesuits at all.
>>15640440
>>15640453
gundam ones make sense because they are like actual futuristic space suits, and the clothes they wear under them are like what you'd expect someone to wear underneath a futuristic space suit.
>>15640473
this on the other hand is full retard, it's even dumber than a skintight catsuit
>>15640510
>they don't look like spacesuits
>>15639467
Desperate times comes desperate measures. If a full suit will slow you down and get you kill whats the point of worrying about the aftermath. Thats like running with full gears on when you are getting chased . You only take want you might need and drop the rest.
