I would have accepted a FSS-like waist too. Thin, but spinal and sort of creepy looking to fit the "monstrous" nature of the Gundams, especially Barbatos.

The thin waists aren't the only unique thing about IBO suits. They're generally more "extremely" proportioned, like Obari's art style. Personally I think it's pretty cool and shows off/hints at the "frame" type of technology IBO introduced.

A Destiny knock-off too, going by that bottom panel showing a potential loadout of a big gun and big physical sword. I do like them though, despite the similarity. I'm kind of curious about some of the details there, it looks like there's some missiles in the shoulders that can pop up and a smaller blade in the wrist. I quite like this Barbatos.

I really liked IBO's MS design.
Especially the Gundams, they had really unique forms and were a departure from the norm.

And I don't really get the claims of the IBO concept art for Barbatos looking similar to Exia.

The exia was way more organic and this is really more like an Impulse, or Freedom inspired design.

also the multiple generator-condenser-thingys al over the suit ( chest and legs) .
actually you can see how they basically disected the suit and salvaged the good parts and deriver new suits from it .

the upper torso basically became Bael,
the lower torso got downgraded to birth the final barbatos.

Interesting bit from Washio on how the messy, slapped together look of Form 6 Barbatos is supposed to represent how Tekkadan starts losing their original goals in favor of pursuing power.

I do think the design works better with the command type Graze shoulders though.

Teiwaz MS had armor on their abs. At least moreso than the Graze/Valkyrie family and the Gundams (barring frog Gusion).
