The New Ultraman manga. What do you think of it, /m/en?
Boring.
It reads really fast, but when I see their other works, it kinda feels flat.
Doesnt help that I dont give a fuck about Ultraman.

Its ok, hasn't been translated in a while.

8 out of 9 volumes have been published English, so I'm considering picking it up, and was wondering what you guys thought of it.
>>15617243
8 out of 9 volumes have been published in English* (oh, and it's still ongoing)
>>15617176
I like it, kinda helps that I only get one volume every 2 or 3 months so it doesn't burn too fast
>>15617243
8 out of 9 in portuguese as well
It's alright. It's definitely more Kamen Rider than Ultraman since the writers are prohibited from using giant monsters, but it reads alright, even if it is a little generic.
>>15617176
Barely new.
>>15617243
Didn't know it got picked up.
>>15617340
Yeah, I didn't expect it either, considering how obscure Ultraman is in the west, but it's apparently a collaboration effort between viz and shogakukan Hero's magazine, the latter want to spread their titles to the west.
>>15617176
It's more of a Rider story with an Ultraman skin
It's serviceable enough
>>15617348
Is this due to the fact there aren't any Kaijuu and Ultraman's man-sized, or does it actually have the feel Kamen Rider title rather than an Ultraman one?
>>15617364
the feel of a Kamen Rider title*
>>15617364
>>15617366
The story centers around dudes fighting in power armors, which feels more Rider than Ultraman. It feels very much like an early Heisei Rider show a la Ryuki and Blade.
It's not going to be Shinjiro's wacky adventure across the world with alien MIB any time soon, but it's a good ride on its own, just not what I'd pick for a good Ultraman story
>>15617272
> the writers are prohibited from using giant monsters
Why? Is this editorial or Tsuburaya issue?
>>15617555
Have you caught up to the 8th volume? I'd like to know if it's still played like a straight early-heisei KR.
>>15617176
When the hell is he going to be big?
>>15618967
When he finally eats big to get big and does more than 4 scoops a day.
>>15618964
Yeah, the whole Ace arc is kinda fucked up, withAce Killer Squad straight up cutting off Seiji's arm
The next arc, Taro, looks interesting
>>15617176
I think it's fucking awesome. The designs and the action is really, really great: the same artists did the Hybrid Insector webmanga, which is a Kamen Rider doujin, and the same thing applies here.
The guys who wrote the story clearly love Ultraman, and it shows. I will say, however, that that plot is a little generic, but it's okay for what we've got.

pianoman please leave
It's alright, drops off after first volume
>>15620952
No, /m/ is my second homeboard. And it needs de-dyel'd.
>>15620983
Something sounds contradictory here
