This was not bad
>>15614881
The zords and costumes design is shit but the characters is fine
>>15614891
I did appreciate that it actually focused on the characters and made them a team you want to win by factor of caring for them as people, rather than the color they wore.
I wasn't bothered too much by the suits, as I've always been a fan of the Guyver's aesthetic and they kinda reminded me of that.
But yeah, the Zords, especially the Megazord were pretty shitty.
At least we got to see them use the Zords as individual mechs instead of instantly combining them. That was nice to see.
>>15614881
>MFW the zords ran forward like in a line while it screamed "GO GO POWER RANNNNGERS"
>>15614881
It sure was a thing
>>15614907
Too bad they turned it off after 5 seconds to play a Kayne West song instead.
>>15614881
I found it pretty generic. Alot of things this film tried to do I found done better in other films.
>>15614907
acually the blue zord was missing
>>15614972
This. It was bland and forgettable, which is the worst thing a movie can be.
>>15614881
Didn't get to see it in theaters, but I'm thinking of buying the Blu Ray once it comes out.
>>15614881
It could only be better than what people expected because people expected the absolute worst.
It's like reverse overhype.
>>15614972
>done better in other films
this so much.
they're not even trying to make any impression they all like hurr member power rangers. there's no atmosphere, no variety, no colors, something those TMNT movies did so much better.
>In full suit for about 2 minutes.
Everytime.
>>15614881
It was not good either
>>15614881
I enjoyed it, but it was not something I'd recommend to anyone not a hardcore fan
They didn't even have a combining scene
>>15614881
Pro:
Characters, which isn't what I expected out of a Power Ranger film, but I liked it.
Con:
Soundtrack was shit
No combine sequence, so the movie is automatic shit
>>15615618
>buying
>>15615618
>buying the Blu Ray once it comes out
>paying actual money for anything that's equal to a piece of shit
>>15614881
It was okay. The Megazord was Bayformers level bad though.
I would watch the sequel.
>>15614891
The costumes ended up looking better in practice than I expected them too. I'm with you on the zords though.
>>15617013
>The Megazord was Bayformers level bad though
The Toys were MUCH MUCH worse. But apparently the british and their stupid inbred kids ate it up. Best selling toy in the united kingdom. Just like how americans loved the new bastardization of an old classic.
>>15614881
I liked it.
>>15614920
yeah, OST was shit- what they were even thinking during the Megazord combination?
>>15614907
I will never understand the simple failure that was made by not using that remix solely during the megazord combination sequence.
>>15617431
"They're combined now I guess," was a real buzzkill.
>>15617431
>"Oh shit, oh shit, we didn't rig these models to fit together, what do we do?!"
>"M-maybe if we add more smoke, do some extreme close-ups...
"BRILLIANT!"
>>15617431
They made it their duty to make the final battle as unhype as possible.
>>15614881
Not that bad yes.
I liked character development but having the team morphing into the rangers at 1 hour and 30 minutes is inexcusable.
Rita's army is composed by uninspired rocky monsters and the Megazord fight was lame plus the design was on Bay levels.
It could have been worse but it could have been better in so many ways.
I honestly would not mind watching a sequel only because everything is already set so we could get more action scenes.
>>15614881
You are retarded and blinded by nostalgia
>>15617850
I also expected Rita to morph into the Green Ranger after the defeat of smeary Goldidiot.
>>15617861
Round 2 with the Dragonzord might have saved things.
>>15617876
>Dragonzord
>raping the Dragonzord's design with shit-tier michael gayformers "aesthetics"
>>15614881
>This was not bad
You're right. It wasn't bad.
It was terrible.
>>15618097
DOOOHOHOHOHO
>>15618097
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BURN.
>have the budget for a big dumb power ranger movie in spirit of the old series
>instead makes a teenager coming of age film with some action in the last 20 minutes or so
>the theme only played for like 5 seconds when the Zoids arrived
The people behind this obviously haven't seen the original Power Rangers. What's even more frustrating is that the characters are actually decent yet I still feel monumentally disappointed.
>>15617859
The opposite for me, actually. I don't even like the original Power Rangers, but I really enjoyed this movie.
