They did, but its a disappointing kit. Backheavy with tiny feet and crappy ankles, rubber apron that the skirt pieces clip to, and the face sculpt and way they did the eyes and eyebrows is horrendous.

But apparently it was popular enough for two regular releases, a p-bandai, and a new upcoming release planned. All without fixing the face.

If you want it, be prepared to work on the face a bit.

I'm just fixing up the files (syncing dub, ocr subs, fix ocr mistakes, styling, etc) for the 2nd half of the show since I synced the dub to the first 12 episodes since that's all was needed like 2 months ago after I downloaded everything, I think.

Anyway, I'm almost done. Only 4 episodes left to do and that's a wrap. A bit odd how this was left unfinished. It looks pretty good even if it may be generic.

Almost definitely not. The new ova is supposed to take place in the years between the two series and features proto burning. Gyanko is still a little kid at that time.

Its was also off in its own display with the other ms girl stuff rather than the bf ova stuff when it was first shown off.

Cheaper and faster to make, more accessibility to a wider SEA audience, more financially viable to release obscure series due to cheaper and quicker nature and most SEA audience such as myself won't care if it's not a top quality dub by western standards., especially if you don't care about hearing the same half a dozen voices (not even exaggerating too much) in the same show and across every show.

Animax, the most prevelant one, introduced so many young people to anime in the late 2000s, such as much myself and many friends. I've watched dozens of series that never got dubbed in the west because Animax would churn dubs by the cheap. Shame it went bust in my country, came back in a zombified state for about a year while it ran the same 4 shows in day on repeat for months on end and then died again, this time probably for good.

A prototype can be changed later though, maybe they changed the face so it would more closely resembled the render.
The first thing we saw of Chinaguy was the render and the real kit looks pretty close to it.
