I'd give it a 3/10

It had no appealing factors for me, from the kits to the show itself. I regret dearly following the show every week with /m/ for the sake of making conversation.

Nothing "hit" with me. By halfway of the first season, I wanted every single male character in the main cast to die in a fire (the women being exempt because they were incidentally a non-issue plotwise from the get-go). I personally found it like Wing, but without the hilarity of the absurd melodrama being played so straight it wrapped around and became silly a la Geass R2.

The mechanical designs always had some sort of detail that ruined an MS for me despite how many I bought (I bought a total of seven from HGIBO). I couldn't enjoy any of the kits except the Rouei and Julia's final Reginlaze.
On top of that, it obviously cut corners in engineering as a line (albeit with commensurate cuts in cost/kit). The Shiden's shoulder joints and legs overall are fucking atrocious.
What's even more annoying is that it has relatively little parts-swap commonality with the HGUC and Revive lines for parts cannibalization.

To me, this series had no idea how to make use of its good points, and when it did, by willful design it tended to shit on itself in some manner.

I really liked the ending but I like macabre, tragic endings where the MCs don't always make it.

Moments like the Hashmal fight, Bael vs Vidar, last episode are why the show will be remembered fondly. We cared about Space Guts, his girlfriend, Manwhore Bro dying and we were really, really happy when they finally killed Iok.

This show had a lot of potential and it didn't live up to it but they definitely did a handful of things right.

I loved the setting and the lack of beam weapons. I enjoyed the characters and found the politics to be about as rational and comprehensible as Gundam has been able to achieve, and I loved the ending.

There are some good things about IBO, and I can appreciate what they're going for, but it's just so damn boring. Practically nothing happens in each episode, and in the span of 20 episodes all I can say is, "Two important people died and the main characters got two new Mobile Suits. Also, they're on Earth now." It shouldn't take 20 episodes for that to happen...
