I actually liked Reco, but I too wish that tomino will end his career with something else.
I'd like to see him go out with a bang.
However I completely would understand him leaving off with reco. He wanted to use the series to leave a cautionary message to the children of Japan, similarly to how Gundam was so I guess it kinda comes full circle in that aspect.
I would personally love for him to do a new gundam series that is essentially a soft reboot of Gundam, but taking place in a completely new universe.
It would be like an amalgamation of all the mecha stuff he's worked on.
Maybe it wouldn't even be related to Gundam at all, he could just start another franchise with the whole "G" prefix thing as a reference.
