I'm like four episodes into Maskman right now, is it meant to be edited in this headache-inducing way? It's like fifty different shots going back and forth every half a second for every little thing while flashing lights into your face and zooming into people's faces just shaking the camera. They also just seem to hop between Tube's HQ and the main crew at complete random and edit it in such a weird way with tons of cuts when they do it as well.

This first Tube plan is also Project Squirrel tier. The fights are amazing though, definitely a plus for people who want some practical effects stuff coupled with neat hand to hand combat.

I think you can kind of see it happening in Maskman, the scene pacing is constantly all over the place. Just an example with episode 5:
Blue Mask is shown to be cutting up firewood in midair and then missing kicking the pieces under a drum fire but they magically land in the fire anyway, then he jumps into said drum to take a relaxing bath or something, it immediately cuts to his teammates talking crap about him, and then suddenly within 30 seconds he's riding the skull thing across the skylines of a major Japanese city at which point said teammates figure out that the snake thing is control it as he's flying around.

Ok, here's my story.
I'm a truck driver. I travel. Everyday.
I have my house, in which I actually live in for around 7 to 10 days per month, depending on the jobs I get.
During the rest of the days, I'm on the road. So, needless to say, I don't have a stable internet connection, only shitty mobile data. Except when I'm in a city, where I get slightly better mobile data.
That means the only ways I have to watch TV shows, including Sentai, is streaming.
Some of you may know that KissAsian is dead. Funimation tracked their shit and their players are all fucked up right now.
So here's my honest question: Does anyone have or know a good alternative for that?

The amount of data used when streaming is a lot lower than when downloading torrents. Usually I use around 60mb per episode, while a 480 torrent is ~250mb.
And I do fill my phone with episodes when I'm home, just that they don't last very long.

Jesus, watching Sun Vulcan for the first time, only about 5 episodes in. I'm loving the show but do they ever get a plot or any character development? every episode just seems like a fucking recap episode or something with how fast they go.

It looks like Maskman fixes its editing issues once you get to about 8ish. It stops being as frequent and filled with blinking lights. They're still there occasionally but not to that crazy level they were before.

This was before Toei started cycling writers out, so the main writer for Goranger through Sun Vulcan was Shozo Uehara. Character development is pretty sparse the shows I've watched that were written by him, but the difference was usually made up with zaniness or characters with endearing personalities.

Even Sun Vulcan had that to a degree, but I do think that by that time he was ready to move on to something new. Which he did the next year with Space Sheriff Gavan.

There arent clear eras, people sometimes divide them based on different criteria, soda era, pre zyuranger and post zyuranger(dividing the ones that are in pr), pre gaoranger and post gaoranger(based on how toyetic the shows are), post gokaiger(used often for the current shows) or outright saying the decade the show is from. There isnt a clear division as showa and heisei so people use the most convenient one.

The 2018 Super Sentai is rumored to be car-based. This is in celebration of 10 years since Go-onger (Feel old yet?) and will in fact have some sort of team up with Go-Onger. Of course, the show will have something past just "cars", but it's been a bit since we've had a vehicle Sentai.

I will keep the first post updated as often as possible, but the next bit of news isn't likely to drop until we get the copyright info, and from there we can judge how on or off the mark this rumor is.

It was an assumption after 16ish series were pretty grounded in what they were trying to do. It got better though, it's just that those first handful of episodes were very confusing and everywhere all at once and felt like a detriment to me. Once you get past like 6ish episodes it calms the hell down but holy crap was it everywhere before that. Tons of generals just doing everything all at once, names being shouted for everyone but the main characters, the enemy group completely slaughtering the Maskmen, and their editing did not help matters at all.

Now at 14 my only real problem is when you occasionally see the Maskmen completely losing fights and on the ground and Red Masks shouts about using their finisher which beats the guy after they were constantly shown to be outmatched or worthless against the guy which hasn't happened for maybe two episodes now, but the point was it was still happening. I finally finished Dairanger
The tweest with Shadam at the end makes no fucking sense and I dunno whether to call that epilogue sweet or bizarre but all in all I enjoyed the series. Really memorable cast of characters.
