There's a ton of unused data and free space in the rom so you can easily make a difficulty patch that doubles as an overhaul of game mechanics. I've already implemented a working Int stat in the game.

It's arguably true (3's sales were awful), but keep in mind that this is a demographic known for being mind-bogglingly casual at times. PoJ merely requires you to put a mild level of thought into your tactics - it's not actually all that difficult, but you can't just brainlessly walk forward and watch everything in your path die like in most SRW games. So of course it gets shit on for being "too hard".

I'm not sure what happened to Dashman, but he just kinda disappeared. The main hurdle was waiting on Oppai to catch up with the story-related stuff, but I guess he either lost interest or is too busy with other things to dedicate any time to it.

I did pretty much everything I could for the project, which is why I dropped out. I don't know enough Japanese to do anything except menus and simple sentences, so I can't pitch in on the story side of things. I don't know anything about programming, so I can't contribute there, either. There aren't anymore topics about GC, due to the lack of updates; the last few threads were nothing but endless bumps and a few screencaps here and there, so it's probably for the best.

It would be great if it was eventually finished, but I don't know if that'll happen. Still, I never imagined a wonky menu translation project would eventually turn into a legit translation that covers roughly half the game. It was cool being involved in it, and I enjoyed working on it. I'm also glad that Dash, Oppai, and Bring all joined in, and made the project what it is. I couldn't even get the translated battle dialogue to show up when I was working on it solo.

this is your last chance to upgrade Sanger's Grungust type 3, all upgrades carry over to a new unit, but its zankanto, omega blaster and eye solid laser all are cheaper to upgrade than the weapons they get replaced with

send people who can realistically renew Focus or Iron Wall to draw in the most hits, most of the time you aren't hitting shit reliably without the former because OG2 loves S ranked grunts with upwards of 120 mobility
Gilliam's good for this but he has no really "good" unit, the Huckebein Trombe with the Graviton Launcher does good for him (and if you're playing OGs, just keep him in the RV because it's a fucking beast of a mech)

if you're having trouble with money in OGs for whatever reason, Raul joins on stage 40 and on top of having a 10 SP Luck, his Excellence Flyer is one of the better ALL attackers in the game
for the rest, if upgrading core stats is really making your cash flow hurt, focus on combination attack modifiers for all units with them except the Fairlions because Shine's just dead weight

whatever unit Lamia's in (even the upgraded Angelg is good enough) and Ryukoou should get some preference as well, with some skill tinkering, they can spam Awaken (from Kusuha's end for Ryukoou) and get off 2~4 barrier piercing attacks wit Hotblood in OGs, and even in OG2, it still does a number on the bosses with warp fields, and makes them waste EN reliably (both Angelg and Ryukoou have after-image innate)

You don't actually need to spend a single cent into weapons in OG2 although it does make certain SR points a lot more bothersome to get since you'll need Armor Breaker to make up for the difference. Proper terrain ratings, Attacker and stat bumps are more than enough to get things done.

Just power through it. Compact 1's first few scenes are difficult because you have shit units and some of the bosses are pretty cruel, but you'll get decent Supers soon and then you'll get shit like Heavyarms Kai and L-Gaim and then the game stops being hard. Last hard fight in that game is the GP-02.


As for that stage, it's the Dunbine one where you can convince Todd, right? Just remember to cast spirits and use as many physical moves as possible. IIRC you have a Minovsky Craft at that point, give it to the GP-01, it's hella fast and the best MS you'll get for a decent amount of time.
