It's funny how fucked everything's getting. Haruka's been trying so hard to protect everyone, but look at what's happened so far. He tried to protect Mamoru and his group, but now most of that group is dead. He tried to keep Chihiro and Jin from meeting, to the point of even blinding Jin, but that didn't go anywhere. He doesn't believe that being a reanimated, weaponized corpse is any way to live, so he tries to give Iyu her final rest, but he keeps hesitating at critical moments giving Chihiro the chance to stop him every time.

Despite his best efforts, everything just ends up in failure for this guy.

Not to mention, Chihiro's name is more traditionally a woman's name. Perhaps Nanaha gave the name to him to respect her supposedly lost daughter. Chihiro has a male counterpart that is widely different from Chihiro's in spelling. I forgot what it was, but the male name may end up being the name of his supposed sister.

The things that acts against this are none of the flashbacks mention a second baby or feature a second child. Iyu's father never mentions a second fetus and Haruka never mentions any stillborn or baby dying from other complications. Even if she somehow wasn't though dead, then there weren't any scenes of a girl similar in age to Chihiro in flashbacks that featured him. With the season giving vague scenes where Nanaha is identifiable to the studious viewer, this outright omission of history is pretty weird.

Jin better not die for Chihiro. It seems like he's going to be giving Chihiro the chance to live provided he doesn't go around killing/eating people. It's seeming more and more possible that with the last shred of humanity Jin has left, he'll die protecting his son. I really hope not.

Wasn't a somewhat big point in S1 the fact that Haruka was treated more like a pet or caged animal rather than a person?

Tachibana theorized that the reason Chihiro was so hungry for human flesh was due to his unique cellular makeup burning through huge amounts of protein. Jin is shown eating every other scene. Mamoru loved burgers.

Haruka, however, only really showcased his hunger when he got wounded by Sigma. In Season 2, he's almost never shown eating, barely touching the plate of noodles he was given in that one scene. And unlike with most other Amazons, he's never shown the urge to eat people.

Sigma types are generally okay about that because they can't really eat anyway. They need special seems directly injected into them.

The main problem with Sigma types is that, while they have high base stats, they can't actually get any stronger. They also have inferior regeneration compared to Haruka and Chihiro and their ability to sense other Amazons is shit, making them poor hunters.

For products made to search and destroy, they're not very good at the "search" part.
