Most Gundams look good, grunt suits look meh. Vidar is top sex. Don't know why people like big frog mobile suit and I don't find the skinny as fuck Graze appealing. Grunts should be a happy medium, like a Zaku or a Leo.

I like a few of the designs don't get me wrong, it has some good shit, but it's not the best over all.

With the post SEED series, the design schemes honestly are less separated by series and more by designers. A lot of the mecha could just as easily be interchangeable between AGE, G-reco and IBO with those design sensibility and shared mechanical designers. The days of each individual series having it's own style and feel are far gone. (That's not to say the designs are worse, but they are much less distinct to the show they belong to.)

It's pretty nice, light years better than fucking AGE and greco designs.

However it is not the best of the franchise. In fact there are many layers of awesome in both UC and some other AU that were scarcely touched upon in IBO. A lot of designs feel a bit too flashy and senseless from modern Gundam overall; complex does not always make better when the proportions and overall "does this look like a machine of war" silhouette aren't there for a lot of designs.

That's often true, but I would debate there are cases of this happening in older shows too. The Gundams from G Gundam and Wing have pretty similair design sensibilities and the same designed. Death Scythe wouldn't be out of place at all in G.

X's designs fit pretty well with that design aesthetic too. The Virsago fits very well with the Master Gundam and Epyon, the Airmaster fits well beside the Wing/Zero, the Leopard/Destroy with Heavyarms etc.
