Honestly I really did enjoy the show, but I can't lie and say the pacing was good.
I feel like if they had more power ups or maybe less "filler" episodes that it would have gone down as a pretty top tier series in general. The Villains were some of the best villains I've seen in any sentai both in design and in motives (except maybe Zed who gets a pass because he looked great). I think a lot of people just shitted on the series because of a combination of the motif of the show (trains) and the design of the suits. Also because it was a bit slow at the start while Gaim was a wild fucking ride.

Lucky seems to now be genuinely likeable. His new gimmick is still being unlucky now and then, but actually being Lucky in a good way.

Garu gets good face time and deserves it both for being entertaining as himself and in battle as Ookami Blue.

Balance is still so fun to watch, as is his standard.

Raptor was cool to finally see doing stuff on the battlefield and wasn't doing the whole fantasy gimmick. She's a team fighter now.

Hammy did the least, but the writing had the brains to let her do stuff on the battlefield and didn't leave her just to laugh at stuff.

They also seemed to have added in that sort of Balance/Garu interaction with the new kyutama since I guess it'd already been made for Red.

It is a good, entertaining and funny episode and AGAIN the combat is stellar.

TV-N seems to have both a Korean translator and I think Takenoko on the Japanese one so pick which one you want to go with. Pick Power Rangers Dino Force for Korean, Kyoryuger for the Japanese dub. Very low chance we see anyone else do it since the only Korean translator we know of that's not TV-N was L&C and they said no.

I don't know why but it feels like the last two episodes are a bit tacked on. I know that they had to have their happy ending but if they expanded a tiny bit on 48's and had a proper fight it probably would have flowed a bit nicer. The ending episodes didn't feel as hype as most other seasons I've watched at least, although they did have that nice speech at the end for their transformation.

Mai speaking English and teasing Ryoga is adorable though.

Abaranger definitely feels like a season to recommend to people starting out Sentai. It has good fights, really fun characters, Asuka is awesome, it has good speeches, and it doesn't really feel like it drags barring those last two episodes. Really solid season

The resolution in the digital TV files is technically 1440x1080, but that's a 4:3 resolution, and there's really only 1440x810 of video data stretched up to that. Kind of like how DVDs are 720x480 but you have to rescale them to 640x480 if you rip them.

Also similar to the Blu-rays for Gokai and Gobus technically being in 1080, but the shows only filmed in 720 so it's just upscaled on the disc data.

Upscaled encodes are usually a waste of hard drive space because in most cases it's no better than your player scaling up a smaller resolution for you. And it can create extra artifacts.
