There was a thread in April about a bunch of 60s mecha manga that no one even remembers anymore like Big Machine and Iron Sampson. So I just learned about this show, Gordian Warrior, and as you can probably guess from the image, it's likely the first show to feature giant robots piloting bigger giant robots

I really want to watch it now just because of that, I imagine the fight scenes are pretty interesting with that as a main feature because it necessitates an increase in scale during battle

on the other hand God Mazinger & Betterman have much better OP songs(which is just as important as having good animation when it comes to an anime OP)

also the exact same mecha design gets used later in Machine Robo in a much more satisfying manner
