Also, I must say, this is gonna be an underrated episode, because I'd argue this is one of the best episodes the show has, primarily because on how they showed Masamune here.

Fucking guy, he's suave and calm, and even when he shows his sadistic side, he's very soft spoken. He gives off fear and doesn't relent. His dialog is perfect and shows more of his character.

Is is Poppy Masamune's wife and his granddaughter? Is Poppy her own Grandma?

>>15567434
He's tempered what insanity runs in his blood, something that his son hasn't quite done yet.

Masamune, let's off a cold and calculating vibe but insane he's more of a lunatic than Kuroto, and we see just tiny bits of it during, like those moment where he threatens the bugsters, or when he's scolding Kuroto for trying to tell him not to sell KRC.

He's holding himself back because he's the President, and he needs to be the very image of a civil, and sane man.

So does Taiga have blueballs from all the exercise Nico does in front him, or does Nico have blueballs since Taiga won't get off his ass and play?
>>
>>15567559
Taiga has blueballs because Nico's just a massive tease in general. Even after the Lovelica mini confession the relationship moved nowhere
>>
>>15567570
I think it's a little bit of both. Taiga is obviously interested in her, Nico is TRYING to get him to do something with constant teasing, but he's holding himself back because he's scared to commit to anything.

Once the threat is over and the world doesn't need Kamen Riders anymore, he's going to pound her like you wouldn't believe.
>>
I knew it. The Emu bullying really was contagious, and has spread to Poppy.
>>
>We all thought that Emu wanted to be a Doctor to save lives
>It's really because he wanted to make mad cash after learning how much his treatment as a child cost
>He's against bringing back everyone using the Gashats because then it might lead to people all just turning into guys like Dan who don't need Doctors anymore
>Which would leave him with the equivalent of a Liberal Arts degree and BOTTOMLESS DEBT
>The only reason he even became a Kamen Rider was so that he could put it on his Resume and get hired as a "celebrity" doctor by some rich asshole or a hospital that wants the publicity
>The reason he's so patient experience oriented rather than actual results oriented like Hiiro is because he knows he'll make more money if his patients like him as a person

That's the twist.

And Dan
>>
This is more like the CEO's lounge room right? Also glad to see Kougami's office set being used again.
>>
>>15567618
Well remember, Dan only cared about being able to make his games. He didn't mind being on the same floor or level as the workers because it let him oversee them better.

And Lovelica didn't care because he only wanted to get Chronicle up and running, so he didn't feel the need to change anything.

Masamune is an actual CEO/Businessman. He doesn't want to mingle with the help when he doesn't have to. He pays people to do that. The piano is literally there just so he can be a smug asshole and show how cultured he is because when you're that high on the food chain, you can do whatever you want. Which means you get to fuck with people who want to have a serious conversation by playing the piano
>>
>>15567629
I do wonder that with some reality subtext, is he a good CEO? He does say he pays employees well and compensates good workers.
>>

The employees seemed pretty happy he was back in the last episode.
>>
>>15567637

Did they forget about Hiiro having a heart attack every time he uses Fantasy?
>>
>>15567681
The recent Magazine scans also imply that Muteki is of the "same kind" as Cronus, which can be attributed to the relationship between Star Platinum and the World. If Parad is part of forming Muteki and Masamune is friends with his Bugster (like Gamedeus), then you can link the show and the manga further with their Bugsters being a parallel to Stands. Then there are implications of super speed from Muteki and one magazine image depicting Muteki dealing out a fast array punches seen in JJBA (and Fist of the North Star).

I'd say this is a situation where the comparison is valid.

Kinda pissed me off that it happened like this, because Hiiro could've helped and gotten his girlfriend more easily.

I'm really hoping Dad Dan either hid the proto gashat or said "If I lose I'm gonna fuckin' delete your girlfriend, it's a failsafe built into my gashat"
>>
>>15567860
There is probably something about bringing people back that only Masamune knows about, or maybe he was just ready to start deleting data like he did to Salty. Hiro is the only one that could work on, Emu would just get more pissed and want to beat him more.
>>
>>15567865
Was Salty really deleted? It sounded more like he was removed from play, considering Masamune said he could bring him back if he chose to do so.
>>
>>15567865
Masamune's the kind of guy who would totally delete a bunch of people's data just to spite someone or even just to show off that he could. If they hit him with the reprogramming but he got away, and we've already seen he can teleport independently from his pausing, he would absolutely punish Hiiro for betraying the agreement they'd already made by deleting his girlfriend.
>>
>>15567882
Yes, because it got rid of the game disease. Salty still has his data in the Mighty Action X proto gashat that he can restore from, but he was deleted from KRC.
>>
>>15567882
>>15567887
The way Masamune talks about it, he could push a button and bring Salty back to life just like he pushed a button to kill him and end his game disease strain. Bugsters and humans are thus now on the same level as one another: both of them can die or be revived at Masamune's whim.

From the way Hiiro was behaving, it makes me think he was on the fence about it. Then he got set off by Emu and Poppy questioning whether or not bringing back his girlfriend would be the right thing to do.

And you know what? That set me off too. Questioning the benefits of immortality is one thing. However l, even if he turned around and seemingly halfheartedly said he'd support Hiiro, just even proposing to refuse bringing back a patient from a disease is fucking stupidest thing to ever to come out of a doctor's mouth. The disease is essentially bioterrorism that didn't have to happen. Do you know how many doctors would give their left nut to save a patient whose life may be unjustly cut short due to a crime?!

>Oh man, this patient got stabbed by some crook pretty badly
>If nothing else, they'll die from bleeding
>I COULD fix it
>But the victim should just accept their fate and eat it. It would be unnatural for me to interfere. They should not have gotten stabbed.
>What? Their family and friends are yelling outside? They're fuming?
>Why's that?

If Emu keeps going down this rabbit hole of mental gymnastics he's digging, he'll really drop as a character for me. If you care so much about the natural way of things, DON'T BECOME A GODDAMN DOCTOR.
>>
>>15567941
She died as far as they're concerned.
Hiiro was moving on.
Hiiro should move on.
Bringing her back will NOT make his life better.
>>
>>15567941
But they come back as a bugster. Plus when you know your life doesn't mean shit you may start getting very stupid with it, just like Dan has but at least he has some crazy focus.

Imagine a world where death meant nothing, nothing really matters any more. Why not go fight some crazy bugster monster, you can throw your life away as much as you see fit.
>>
>>15567941
I don't think it's that. Emu is more concerned about the immortality aspect. For all intents and purposes Saki is dead and what they would be bringing back is a Bugster copy, just like Kuroto. Is this really the can of worms they should be opening? Transhumanism is a really big controversial topic that no one really wants to be the bearer of. How can life be precious if we can just quantify it to 1s and 0s like that.
>>
>>15567949
>>15567950
>>15567951

I'm not asking for all of them to turn immortal. If a patient can be treated to live a normal life even with the virus, then why not grant them that? The game virus doesn't instantly grant immortality. Level 0 is what grants Dan multiple lives nd Bugsters are only immortal when they consume a human. Bugsters like Burgmon can still die.

If a cancer patient can be treated to a point where they can live a mostly normal life even with cancer, then is their ANY moral reason to deny that from them? Seems stupid that just because virus can kidnap whatever infects via unorthodox methods means the patient should be considered dead. Imagine if if missing persons cases were conducted like that.
>>
Nico has gravure pics right? Please tell me she does.
>>
>>15567708
This, really. I mean the manga, the Capcom fighter and even the OVA were released in the US back in the day.
>>
>>15567973
> If a patient can be treated to live a normal life even with the virus
But they aren't, they are a bugster which has huge implications

But ignoring that such an event has serious psychological ramifications. Some may not one to come back especially for religious reasons. But for the ones who are left that will cause a change in out look. This can encourage destructive behaviors, a lot of terminally ill people do go off and do what they feel like cause life why not. Similar thing can happen with those who survive serious conditions, in fact going through that will undoubtedly changed you in someway. So if dying no longer stopped you life is a lot less meaningful, that means you will take it more for granted especially if they can find a way to come back again. Which seeing as other protogashats are around and being data it should simply be code-able you could end up with a chaotic situation.

That isn't even getting into the whole is it really them or all the really weird implications for society that now has.
>>
>>15567941
>>15567973
The thing is Ex-Aid will end with everyone being brought back in some fashion, just after affirming that everyone involved should care about their life.

If someone got stabbed, treated and then went on to think they were a huge badass who can survive dangerous shit they are probably going cause some harm to society.

This hasn't actually stopped Emu at any point, but their are serious ramifications which is why in real medicine we do treat people more than just physically. Which unintentionally plays into Emu's wanting people to smile again bit.
>>
why doesn't everyone just infect themselves with bugster so if they die they can load a bugster backup

can the backup really be considered the original person
>>
>>15568065
Can the you of right now be considered the same person as you were yesterday?

Maybe you didn't exist before you woke up this morning, and everything was essentially a long dream.

Maybe you still don't exist and need to wake up already, you're going to be late.
>>
>>15567941
This could make sense if they are revived as bugsters like Shin Dan Kuroto. If they aren't even human anymore, you aren't saving them. You are making a artificial replacement.
>>
>>15568070
Wouldn't a back up be better than nothing? What if you could update daily, or hourly?

Shin Dan's a special case, though.

Getting a Game Over or being consumed by a Bugster implies you are sent and stored in a Proto Gashat. Dan didn't go that way though. Parad just sprinkled a bunch of game virus dust on him outside of his Rider form and that strain of the virus didn't produce a Bugster of any sort.

You forget that Hiiro himself has said that they, as doctors, shouldn't approve of trying to bring people back from the dead.
>>
>>15567941
It's not about them thinking it's wrong to bring people back to life, it's about how they believe it's wrong to treat lives as something they can just flip on and off without concern.

Besides that, Emu isn't refusing to do any of that, he has his own personal problems with the concept of bringing people back to life, but he is fully willing to do it. It would be different if Emu opposed it and tried to prevent it from happening, but hes not. It's like Necromancy. Some people think Necromancy could be super useful, bring back the dead, let them do manual labor for free, make the world a better place, while other people think it would be fucking creepy and wrong to bring back the dead.
>>
>>15568022
Life threatening experiences will always have some sort of psychological impact on victims, yes. Sometimes that makes some of those victims go off the wall, like raped women who tend get into dangerous relationships even after being raped. That doesn't stop medical industry or the authorities from treating and saving people.

If there are concerns over disease, injury, or crime done against a victim or patient causing psychological trauma, then they get introduced to various methods of therapy meant to combat those issues and reintroduce them to regular living.

I don't really see an issue in retrieving those trapped in the Proto Gashats and then destroying said Gashats. "Immortal" humans in this case only happen because of them. In that sense it's less like being immortal and more like being on immortalizing life support. Nobody had any problem with the humans who got saved after being turned into code near the end of Drive. If you want to champion mortality then simply make devices such as those and the development of them illegal. Go full Reagan on them if you must. I just don't think the innocent used a guinea pigs for those devices and mutated because of them should be finished off for no reason.

>bring people back from the dead.
>bring people back to life
That's the issue I'm debating here. Even in the show they had a hard time deciding whether or not these people are actually dead. If the prototype Gashats weren't built as storage and humans just turned to dust or were just left as lifeless corpses, then I'd have less of an issue.

Being transferred into a storage device though, I'm not gonna jump to the conclusion that they have actually deceased. Even if their DNA has been transformed to match the Bugsters, Kuroto implies that their humanity and identities are intact. If proto Gashats are destroyed, then what good would we be to terminate these people?

I'll tell you right now, nearly anybody would contest against being terminated just because somebody kidnapped them and put them in a cryostasis chamber that screwed with their genetic makeup.

The thing is you are, these are deep concepts that you can't hand wave as it makes perfect copies so they are the same person just like if they were in the next room.

Even Dan considers himself Shin Dan

>Being transferred into a storage device though
Even if we say that data in Ex-aid is the real original version, the fact they have been converted not to mention broken up and reassembled. You want to frame this as they are still 100% intact as they were but that just isn't accurate.

This isn't like someone has them in cryostasis, this is someone turned them into dirt but has a dirt to human replicator which can restore someone back to how the originally were.
>>
So unless Dan Papa has Saki's data tied to his balls I see no fucking reason why Hiiro betrayed them. Does he not realize that by beating him, and subsequently beating the game, they would also be able to end up reviving everyone?

This is legit the first plot-twist so far that I find extremely dumb and forced drama as fuck. They better give a good explanation as to why Hiiro did this besides muh emotions because even with that into play there was no need for him to betray the CR.
>>
>>15568261
Dan Sr. can teleport. He doesn't need to pause for it. He used it to make a dramatic exit last episode.

If Emu smacks him with the reprogramming and Hiiro doesn't stop him then Dandad teleports away, goes "Hiiro you betrayed me, deal's off and I'm deleting your girlfriend".
>>

>>
>>15568263
If Dan Masamune does that, he ends up neutered with one more person who wants him him dead and no leverage over said person. I know Chronus is a dick, but I don't think he's suicidal.

This was really fucking stupid on Hiiro's part if that was his motivation.
>>
>>15568329
> Saki will come back and she'll say she should've stayed dead if Hiiro did have to betray his friends to bring her back to life.

Do what Drive did with Mach: Take the thing that he betrayed the team for (Banno's tablet for Mach, Saki for Hiiro) and make it crush his soul.
>>
>>15568404
Hiiro wanted him dead before the deal anyway, and Cronus can hand everyone their asses even without Pause. Pause just means he doesn't even have to work for it. The only reason he hasn't just killed all the Riders is because they help promote his brand, and he's not above killing people off if they sufficiently irritate him that it's not worth dealing with them, or even just to show off the fact that he can.

But even disregarding that, we established way back at the start of the show that when it comes to Saki, Hiiro becomes very illogical and emotion-driven. Faced with Masamune giving him the offer of "be a mod for my game and I'll revive your girlfriend 100% guaranteed, no strings attached, but betray me and I'll delete her", and Emu's offer of "well, I don't really want to revive your girlfriend on principle, but we'll do this risky plan to maybe take out Masamune, if reprogramming even works, and if it works we'll try to revive your girlfriend", it's not surprising that Hiiro chose the option with the guarantee of getting what he wants even if it's the selfish option.
>>
>>15568250
Even if it was considered by all Ex-Aid characters across the board that these people were copies, it's still fucked up to considered simply destroying independent life-forms along with the Gashats.

It's not like the Amazon virus where it gives the infected cannibalistic tendencies. You don't see Dan looking at somebody, like, Taiga while licking his lips. Even the likes of Burgmon didn't concern himself with taking over his host.

Sounds stupid, but I always kind of felt an affinity for Hiiro because my girlfriend passed away last year shortly before Ex-Aid came out, and I'd do the exact same thing in his position. That preview scene hit me hard, because that was my exact reaction after seeing that clip.

Feels bad man.
>>
>>15568448
But even if Hiiro agrees, if he revives Hiiro's girlfriend he loses the only thing he can hold above Hiiro, which puts him back where he was, with Hiiro wanting him dead.
>>
>>15568448
Hiiro could have easily solved the teleporting problem by making a suggestion when they were planning: Instead of reprogramming Chronus to remove his pause ability, reprogram him the same way Dan Jr. was reprogrammed.

I think Hiiro being irrational when it comes to Saki is a fine explanation though.

He's assuming Hiiro, like Masamune himself, is a man of his word. Masamune states outright that he considers it important to build a good relationship with his employees, and we've seen firsthand that he's good at it because all the Genm Corp. employees are ecstatic to have him back at the helm. He'd make sure Hiiro continued to be compensated properly to ensure his loyalty - and, well, if he betrayed him, he could always kill Saki again. It's not like Hiiro could stop him.
>>
>>15567787
its really good to know Dan took this whole 'my dad stole my ideas and wants to destroy the world as a business' thing with the eloquence and maturity of a Game developer of his caliber.
>>
>>15568628
pretty much, its clear Hiiro has no option here.

if he would have defeated Chronos now, theres a chance, even without his pause that he would go and destroy the Protos or delete Saki from the DKHZ gashat.

right now, as long as Masamune has the Protos in his power, defeating him is impossible, he has thousands, if not MILLIONS of lives on his hands and if the riders dont cooperate, he could destroy every single one of them.

theres are ramifications about how these lives work and if the revived humans are still humans or become bugsters, but i doubt this show is gona go that far.

So how's Cronicle International Version even gonna work?

The game is an endless grind-fest worse than the worst MMO where the end-game is impossible to reach. The area bosses are like 10 all over the fucking world. The rare mobs with rare drops are like 4 or 5 all over the world. You die if you lose at a game that's rigged against you. Even if people keep playing because they want to revive someone they lost even those people will end up dying sooner or later too. No matter how much Masamune rigs the game to keep players "players" sooner or later people will end losing interest because everyone will end up realizing the game is rigged and there's no point on trying no matter how desperate you are to revive someone because you'll end up dead too.

This work model plain and simply is not profitable in the long-run. What's more, why would other countries in the World even accept Chronicle in first place considering that it is well known as a game where you will fucking die or get sick with something that will kill you yes or yes unless you beat one of the overpowered bosses? Why would any other country risk that on their citizens? This shit would get banned instantly. I'm baffled that Masamune managed to find a publisher.

And honestly, Chronicle itself is a kind of a shitty game too. Only about few bosses, all the mooks are recolors. Limited weapon selection. No character customization. Shitty stages that all are real life locations. Etc.
>>
>>15569606
Y'see, here's the thing, It's a SURVIVAL game. You know how much shitty early access survival games sell? Fucking GORILLIONS. Look at DayZ, H1Z1, PUBG, Rust, and all these other pieces of fucking garbage made for retards, and look how well they've sold, that's why Chronicle would be popular as fuck.
>>
>>15569612
But even those pieces of shit have more features than Chronicle.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it through normalfag lenses because considering how everyone we've been shown playing is fucking bad everyone is at the game only normalfags and dudebros and gurrrrrrrrrrrl gamers are playing it while the people who actually know shit about videogames are not giving a fuck and calling it a shitty game for casuals.
>>
>>15569615

>>
>>15569606

Here's my guess as to how Chronicle would work internationally.

Masamune would find a way to make additional Chronicle Master Gashats, essentially making several sets of clones of the Bugsters.

One full set of Bugsters for each country Masamune plans to release Chronicle in.

This also means Masamune would have to make copies of the Gamer Drivers and Gashats, and hire people to be the Kamen Riders for each country.
>>
>>15570224
>Someone gets the rights to an American Ex-Aid adaptation

>>
>>15570238

>American Ex-Aid, Brave, Snipe, and Lazer are just guys Masamune hired to play the Kamen Riders from Chronicle's American Edition.
>the early TATAKAE is caused by American Ex-Aid having a crisis of conscience about being part of a game that kills people, and attempting to help the Ride Players instead of fight them
>the other Riders are sent to take back his Gamer Driver and Gashats.
>he slowly convinces them to turn against Genm Corp and help him try to end Chronicle in America

He tells Kuroto that loyalty should be rewarded and employees should be treated with respect and sympathy, but these are mere platitudes to manipulate others to do his bidding. You can tell merely by the way he refers to everyone else: by their gashat names rather than their given names. To him they are products to be bought and sold, produced or canceled, at his own whim, and even then only if they have market value. He clearly is on a power trip, he cures Emu's patient just to show him that he controls everyone's lives even while saying that he doesn't want his player base to dwindle.

No man should have that kind of power but ESPECIALLY not a man like Masamune Dan.
