If this was any other Gundam or Mecha series, I would completely disagree, but given the fact his actions were within the context of the Cosmic Era and the utter shithole that the world was during Seed Destiny, you are correct to say he did nothing wrong.

What other options existed for humanity by that point? Being pawns to a cult of profiteering One Worlders who propagate war for simple self economic gain? [I.E LOGO'S]

Durrandals plan is far from perfect, but it at least provided an actual plan to move mankind forward.
