2. He couldn't get supplies to fight for real
3. He thought that Gundam would burn in the atmosphere, so he wasn't bothering himself with trying.

Amuro in Zeta was better than him and he hadn't piloted a Gundam in like 7 years. Kamille was better than him too and way more useful. I'm pretty sure that even Lila fucked with him pretty damn well. The Amuro thing is more excusable since lets say that piloting is like riding a bike. But Kamille and Lila being better were plot reasons rather than because actual experience.

Char is completely average in piloting and newtype ability. He always makes up for it by having the best suits.

Amuro would have stomped his shit in hard in CCA. in fact amuro eventually did. Amuro is the better pilot, the better newtype, and the Nu was better than the Sazabi.

I'm not really sure I would call any Mobile Fighters better pilots simply because they don't really have to do much piloting. It just follows their moves. It would be like calling someone who mentally controls a mecha a better pilot than someone who does it with a joy stick and buttons. It's a superior control method, but probably makes you less good of a pilot.

That being said, since Domon beat Super Asia, wouldn't that make him the best pilot, but your logic?

The Hyaku shiki is a failed prototype which performs little better than the MK2 or a Nemo. He manages to fight Haman and Scirroco at the same time in it. Two of the most powerful newtypes in top of the line suits.
