I figure this might be a good place to ask. Can you guys recommend any fun sci-fi films? Not serious existential stuff, but it doesn't have to be space adventures either. Just anything you enjoy, hokey classics included.
Chappie was pretty fun
I really like Flash Gordon.

Chappie was garbage, mate
>>15550009
Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, the old TV show and 2005 movie
Edge of Tomorrow
Robocop the old one and 2014
Galaxy Quest
The Orville its by Seth Mcferlane but it seems pretty lighthearted
Speed Racer
Robot and Frank
District 9

You're garbage, mate

Creation of the Humanoids
if Ed Wood got a few sentences describing Blade Runner and made a rip off of it, it would probably look something like this
>>15550033
the look on cruise's face at the end
that's someone who no longer give's a damn.
>>15550019
I double this one. Flash Gordon can be wacky, but is fun to watch.
>>15550033
Edge of Tomorrow is also pretty good, and you will probably enjoy it.

>Robot and Frank
>fun
That was depressing as fuck.
Metropolis
Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy
Terminator 1 and 2
War of the worlds (both the old and the Tom cruise one)
>>15550019
The soundtrack was fantastic
look up 70's exploitation sci fi on youtube. You will find some amazing little movies no one remembers.
I highly recommend Spaced invaders. It's about a bunch of aliens crash landing on Earth and it's just a really good fun family film. Good puppetry, good writing, 90's family fun at it's best
Cowboys & Aliens
Zebraman
Machi Action
>>15550009
Guyver 2: Dark Hero is pretty good, lots of great costumed action and deliciously cheesy acting starring none other than Solid Snake himself in the lead role. The first movie isn't quite as good but is passable for a 90s sci-fi horror action movie.

First movie was pretty bad but the suits were pretty swell.
>>15550009
Flight of the Navigator
Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
Robot Jox
Trancers
Battle Beyond the Stars
Flash Gordon
The Black Hole
The Last Starfighter (recommended)
>>15550727
Robot jox is very over rated. It's mostly boring with 2 short robot fights
>>15550807
Fights were pretty sweet.
Yeah everything else wasn't great.
>>15550869
Worth looking up on youtube for sure.
We should compile an infograph for recommended /m/ Western movies
>>15550727
The Black Hole was fun to watch, the red robot Maximillian was bad ass, and the ending was WTF.
>>15550885
>/m/ western
so wild wild west?
>>15550033
If you liked Edge of Tomorrow, i recommend reading the book it was based on too, All You Need is Kill. Its a really good read
>>15550959
Don't be a faggot.
Outer World / Star Quest / Beyond the Rising Moon. Sooo not a good movie, but it has a place in my heart. Recommend the old, practical effects Version over the "updated" CGI tomfoolery version.

Hardware, Gunhed, Robocop.
Forbidden Planet
Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Honestly it still blows my mind that EoT was as good as it was, considering what AYNIK is. I remember back when the film was announced and thinking how much of a shitshow it was going to be, getting proven wrong was a pleasant surprise.
Also as a heads up AYNIK was also published for a time under the EoT name, mostly for brand coordination. At least they didn't try to pull the LIVE DIE REPEAT fast one on that at the time either.
WarGames is fuckin' great.
