I've had trouble enjoying Sentai ever since Gobuster. After Enter it was just hard to go back to goofy, incompetent, Team Rocket style villains.

I know some of the older sentai have that. I liked Jetman and Dairanger. But I like some other aspects of modern sentai... the effects mostly. Has there been anything since Kyoruger where the villains seem actually threatening? Or do I need to fuck off back to Kamen Rider General?

Translation quality went up during Kamen Rider Drive as the lead translator was a new guy. English wasnt his main language so a few sentences were slightly stiff, however he dropped all obakatachi shit. Only Japanese honorifics (Belt-san) were left, most likely because if Take. He did a better job thqn Take ever did, so he gave him the boot.
I skipped Ghost, can't comment.
Ex-Aid ia another new guy, doing a vastly superior work translating than Take or the Drive guy did. Again, no obakatachi shit. Most likely Take will kick him out after Ex-Aid, only time will tell.

All done with Gekiranger. That was fantastic. Haven't seen a ton of Sentai, but probably about equal with Shinkgenger for me. Really obnoxious red, but the other characters made up for it, Leo and Mele especially. They had great arcs. The kung fu motif and fights were also top notch. Sad that it's over.
But damn Jan was annoying.

So i bought a used Galleon buster from toystogames and after useing the special metalic ranger key it only gives me a red charge
I've seen some reviews and noticed it's supposed to emit a special charge when you use the metalic gokai red key
I've confirmed it's the right key smooth with no notches on tge right side
Is my buster broken?
I have no other keys to test it with and i certainty don't want any if my buster is broken and only gunna give a red charge

Special Charge is only meant to happen using a gold or sliver key. Your buster is fine. What you saw in those reviews were probably the reivewer rushing to showcase everything and the fast motion of inserting and removing keys gave a false input
